POST TITLE:Deputy General Manager - Facilities
RESPONSIBLE TO: General Manager
EMPLOYEE SUPERVISION:Cleaners and Receptionists
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE:
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, lead and develop the Reception and Cleaning teams to ensure that they work effectively, efficiently, maximising member standards and retention.
- Deliver a high level of service by maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the Centre.
- Ensure that exemplary customer service is provided by team members and undertake regular reviews with Reception and Cleaning teams.
- Ensure all Receptionists and Cleaning team members have thorough inductions and are continually trained in all aspects of their jobs, creating training plans as necessary.
- Promote membership activities and promotions at Newbury assisting with membership sales where necessary.
- Conduct regular IPDR’s to develop and monitorteam’s performance liaising with the General Manager and HR as required.
- To deputise for the General Manager, and manage the building, ensuring Health and Safety of all persons inside and that staff carry out their duties and comply with all safe systems of work in his absence.
- Provide Pool Supervisory cover as required.
- Respond to Emergency Action Plan (EAP) as required, which will include Building Evacuation.
- Maintain First Aid Certificate and provide first aid for customers and staff.
- Act as key holder and respond to out of hour’s emergencies and call outs as required.
- Be responsible for all appropriate areas of Health and Safety
- Organise department rotas for cleaners and receptionist, adhering to Trust policy and employment legislation and ensure payroll timesheets are checked and completed in a timely manner and that all paperwork is submitted to payroll by monthly deadlines.
- Hold regular departmental team meetings.
- Ensure that all stock including vending and cleaning chemicals is maintained and checked monthly.
- Ensure that the cleanliness and presentation of the centre is maintained to the highest standards.
- Act as an ambassador for the Sports Trust and Club at all times, wearing correct uniform and presenting professionally. Attend Trust meetings, events and conferences as directed by General Manager.
- Support and promote the Trust’s strategic aims.
- Undertake all mandatory training and other training necessary in line with the development of the post and agreed by the General Manager.
- Attend all relevant staff training sessions.
- Ensure that the highest level of customer service is being met at all times. Deal with customer queries and concerns proficiently and professionally in line with Trust procedure.
- Flexible with regards to hours of work. Occasionally training or meetings are organised outside normal working hours. The post holder will be expected to attend whenever reasonably practicable.
And any other duties commensurate with the grade and falling within the scope of the post, as requested by Management.
