POST NEWSLETTER/CALENDAR FOR MAY - JUNE 2017
Commander’s Comments:
Comrades and Sisters,
I would like to start out by congratulating all new officers for the Post and all the Auxiliary. The official turnover date for incoming officers is June 4th.
On May 29, 2016 is Memorial Day. We will be doing the Flag raising at the court house at 8AM, then we will participate in the Memorial Service at the National Cemetery at 11 AM. We will have a picnic at the Post later that afternoon, food will be served around 4 PM. All are invited and encouraged to attend.
June 14th, is Flag Day. On June 11th we will be doing a Flag retirement ceremony at the Post at 2 PM. We are going to have the Young Marines, Boy Scouts (Hopefully) and The Sons of The Revolutionparticipating in the ceremony. I would like to invite everybody to come out and join us.
On June 17th we will be hosting a Lunch and Learn On Fort Dixie. It begins at noon, tickets are $20.00 per person that includes lunch. So if you would like to support us please come out and participate in this event. Or you can volunteer to help make this event a success.
As you can see we have a lot going on. These events do not include the hall rentals we have over the next couple of months. I understand not everybody can come out for everything, but I would like to encourage everybody to come out when they can and support the Post and our events.
Please take a few moments to review our calendar of events and plan on coming out to support our Post. Sunday morning breakfast is on the 1st and 3rd Sundays, and Steak Night on the last Friday of the month.We also have Texas Hold’m Poker on Fridays starting at 7 PM.
We also have several projects in work and planned. In the very near future there will be a list of planned projects and ones that need finishing. We could really use some help getting these done.If you have the time please let me know where and when you are available to help.

Ladies Auxiliary:
Sisters and Brothers of the Auxiliary, May is installtion month for your new Officer's for 2017-2018. All are encouraged to be at the next meeting to welcome your new officer's into position. Our next meeting is also a joint meeting which will be brief and then we will go into our meeting to install the new Officer's. These new Officer's will take command in June.
June will bring new activities and we look forward to adding many new members with the new fiscal year. Keep your eyes on the Post calendar for upcoming events and come out and support your new Officers and the Auxiliary.
Lastly, I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your support the last three years of my tenure as your President. I have learned so much and, yet, I feel like I didn't learn enough. God bless you all, God bless our Veterans and God bless America!

POST CANTEEN NORMAL OPERATING HOURS:
The Post Canteen will operate 7 days a week and will open for business at 3 PM to 6:30 PM each day. The Canteen will stay open later at the discretion of the on duty bartender.
