We support and strengthen field program implementation, contributing to partner capacity and promoting learning. We work in partnership with people with disability and their organisations to bring about local change, access services and alleviate poverty. We aim to alleviate poverty raising awareness on the rights of people with disability, including people with disability in local change and development.

Purpose of Role:

The Project Income Development Coordinator will map, identify and respond to new funding opportunities to grow income for CBM’s programs. The 12 month (maternity cover)position will map and assess grant opportunities in Australia, lead on developing and submit at least one grant proposal, develop and recommend key ongoing opportunities, and build strong relationships and communication internally and externally. This role is 0.6 FTE and a maternity leave cover from April 2018 – March 2019.

Level of Direction or Supervision:

The International Programs Department works closely as a team to manage quality programs and projects within the CBM international Federation. Within CBMA, the role of Project Income Development Coordinator has a significant responsibility, working independently to identify and develop large proposal bids, in close liaison with senior IP staff (International Program Director, Senior Program Advisors and Grants Coordinator). The role will report to the Senior Program Advisor responsible for grants and systems.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Scope program grant funding opportunities in Australia from foundations, government and other institutions for CBMA field programs
  • Contribute to IP Management Team decisions identifying prospects for grant funding, management of relationships internally and external to CBMA
  • Develop sound program solutions for funding opportunities (sources within Australia for first 12 months), submit at least one proposal and develop two others
  • Ensure clear communication protocol and develop collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders: across CBM departments (International Programmes, Inclusive Development), within CBMI country offices and with external funders (tbc).
  • Represent CBMA in external contexts as required.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES REQUIRED
Map and scope funding opportunities for CBMA, focusing on institutional and foundation grants within Australia as a priority, and working alongside the program team
Provide a high level overview of strengths and challenges for successful grants in CBMAs program, establish recommendations for IP Management Team
Oversee development and submission of at least one grant proposal in the 12 months, synthesising program material (CBMI CBMA), drawing on CBMA’s niche advantage and develop two other concept notes
Contribute to development of criteria clarifying Australian foundation grants which are best located with programs and which with Fundraising
Develop professional collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders across CBM departments
Ensure CBMA and CBMIO program standards are upheld with particular emphasis on disability inclusive development, and Child Safeguarding
KEY COMPETENCIES OF ROLE
Current knowledge of international development, understanding of the Australian aid sector particularly grants and income development, knowledge of inclusive development approach
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain strong cross-organisational and team relationships including where priorities may not be aligned.
5-10 yearsexperience in overseas development project management including complex proposal writing for institutional donors and evidenced success in winning large project bids
Ability to communicate program strategies effectively
Ability to work within a Christian framework being sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.
Manage & organise complex workload cooperatively within a team
Willingness and ability to contribute to development and growth of CBM’s mission.
