POSITION TITLE:Professional Supervisor / Clinical Supervisor

PURPOSE

This position will provide clinical supervision,leadershipand professional training and development to staff across the agency in order to enhancetheir professional capacity and skills.

In addition the clinical supervisorprovides Psychology Board of Australia registration requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide professional supervision and training for supervisees to improve and support professional practice and to provide opportunities to develop and improve supervisees’ clinical and practice skills.
  2. Maintain an understanding of the appropriate requirements for ethical and professional practice in accordance with the requirements of relevant professional bodies.
  3. Provide staff with regular and timely supervision sessions in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  4. Maintain and file accurate records of supervisory activities in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
  5. Develop and deliver identified workshops / training as required.
  6. Provide high order communication and interpersonal skills including ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
  7. Comply with legislative (including Workplace Health and Safety, Privacy and Equal Employment Opportunity), service agreements and Quality Management System requirements
  8. Other duties as delegated by the Deputy Director.

In addition, Clinical Supervisor will:

  1. To provide supervision to provisionally registered psychologists (counsellors), under the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  1. Supervisees receive regular professional clinical supervision in accordance with Centacare’s Professional Supervision policy and procedures.
  2. Supervision reflects the mission and ethos of Centacare and promotes positive staff morale.
  3. Sound understanding of the needs and skills of supervisees and able to identify and address areas for further development.
  4. Training is developed and delivered in accordance with identified training and professional development needs of the agency.
  5. Demonstrated detailed knowledge of the requirements of the relevant professional bodies as reflected in Centacare’s Supervision Policy and Procedures.

SELECTION CRITERIA

In addition for Clinical Supervisor will:

  1. Provide supervision to provisionally registered psychologists (counsellors) that is compliant with Psychology Board of Australia requirements

Mandatory Selection Criteria

MSC1:Ability to possess a Positive Notice for Child Related Employment (Blue Card and a yellow card exemption) from the Public Safety Business Agency (PSBA).

MSC2:Willingness and ability to regularly travel to local outreach communities and inter / intra state.

In addition, Clinical supervisor will be:

MSC3:Fully registered psychologist, eligible to provide supervision to provisionally registered psychologists (counsellors), under the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia and at least five years’ post graduate experience working in the social / community services sector.

Key Selection Criteria

KSC1:Possess a degree in Psychology or Social Work and at least three to five years’ post graduate experience working in the social / community services sector.

KSC2:Demonstrated experience in the provision of professional supervision / supervising staff / teams.

KSC3:Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and the delivery of social services in the community sector.

KSC4:Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, monitor and support staff in skills development and complex problem solving and performance management.

KSC5:Ability to develop and deliver training packages for professional development purposesfor staff.

KSC6:Highly developed organisational, time management and administrative skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise and work to strict timeframes.

Desirable Selection Criteria

DSC1: Possession of ora willingness and ability to attain, Certificate IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor.
