POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Administers all human resources plans and procedures for the organization; develops and implements human resource policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook, job descriptions and other human resource related policies. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to the Executive Management Team for improved company policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.

·  Maintains knowledge industry trends, legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance

·  Performs employees relations including employee coaching, providing guidance to leadership on performance management, misconduct issues, and conflict resolution

·  Provides guidance to other managers to resolve employee relations and performance issues; identifying issues that need to be escalated to ownership; makes recommendations to ownership on how to resolve and proceed with employee issues.

·  Responsible for employee training and development. Provides training to supervisors and recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the company. Prepares and presents training programs for supervisory staff regarding supervisory skills, employee relations, discipline, and safety.

·  Design and assist management with the annual personnel evaluation process.

·  Implement and manage compensation program, conduct salary surveys, review salary by department in conjunction with executive management team.

·  Provides oversight and sets the direction for all recruitment and hiring efforts for all staff in collaboration with others; including drafting and maintaining job descriptions, posting for positions, screening applicants, interviewing, background checks, new hire paperwork and conducing new-employee orientations.

·  Files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, report and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

·  General oversight of the worker’s compensation program for injured workers.

·  Responsible providing oversight and direction for development and maintenance of safety program. Provide training to supervisors and employees for safety awareness.

·  Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Manages responses to the unemployment division.

·  Develops and maintains the human resource information system to meet company information needs.

·  Directly supervises and leads HR staff including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

·  Coordinates with plant personnel in all aspects of Human Resources to ensure adherence of company policies, safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

·  Position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Management, and a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources administration. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred. Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment is desirable.

·  Strong communication (both verbal and written) and leadership skills are required in order to work effectively with all levels in an organization. This includes direct knowledge or organizational policies, procedures and systems in a manufacturing setting. Someone bilingual in Spanish and English is desirable.

·  Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, however, able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.

·  Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees and general public.

·  Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise

·  Must have strong interpersonal skills and willingness to respond promptly and personably to employees. Professional attitude and service oriented.

·  Requires sound administrative and decision making skills.

·  Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and multi-task.

·  Knowledge and ability to implement and observe company policies, OSHA safety regulations and GMP practices.

·  In-depth experience with Microsoft programs including Outlook, Excel and Word. Experience with manufacturing software programs preferred.

The position typically spends about 90% of the time in an office environment, 5% of the time outside of the office for training and meetings, and 5% of the time in a production environment. The majority of the time spent performing the duties of this job will be utilizing person-to-person contact, the phone and/or personal computer systems.

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects in a production and office environment.

Equipment Used: PC and peripherals, fax machine, calculator and other standard office equipment of recording, storing and presenting information.
