Position Overview
To provide support to Corrections Industry Officers in the development and implementation of a dynamic education and training environment in ensuring compliancy of national industry and training standards, the promotion of continuous improvement, innovation, risk management and improved trainee outcomes.
To monitor and instigate continuous improvement activities, such as validation and moderations, in ensuring quality services provided meet National standards.
Participate in the development of identified vocational education and training programs including the preparation of learning and assessment resources, tailored to meet the needs of prisoners, within a correctional industries and centre environment.
Coordinate and facilitate off the job training components of programs and manage records in accordance with RTO requirements and departmental policies and procedures.
Detailed Statement of Duties
1.Assist the Senior Lecturer and Compliance Officer in monitoring and maintaining standards, qualification packaging rules, training package updates and all VET compliance matters.
2. Support Corrections Industry Officers by monitoring and maintaining training resources to ensure all VET Programs meet the National VET Standards.
3. Work with the Senior Lecturer and Industry Officers to develop and monitor Auspice Agreements and training schedules.
4.Assist the Industries Officers in meeting prisoner vocational education and training goals.
5. Conduct pre-training assessments and assist with the integration of literacy and numeracy activities and programs within the VET training structure, including identification of individual trainee needs.
6. Contribute to the evaluation of resources and outcomes and the development of continuous improvement processes.
7. Record, evaluate, submit and report on results from delivered vocational education programs and related literacy and numeracy support programs in accordance with the Registered Training Organisation’s procedures.
Essential Selection Criteria
1.TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment including TAELLN401A or TAELLN411 with experience in delivery and development of industry specific VET training and a high level of knowledge on the National VET Quality Framework and its Standards and audit processes.
2.Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively in a culturally appropriate manner with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, in particular experience working with Indigenous Australians.
3.High level computer literacy with experience using a range of relevant software applications which includes MS Office word processing, spreadsheets and data bases.
4.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively within the social, political and cultural environments of an Indigenous organisation.
5.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of RTO administrative practices and procedures including record management principles, standards and practices.
6.Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage own performance and work with initiative to achieve expected outcomes with minimal supervision.
7.Undertake duties and tasks related to the responsibilities of this position as identified by the Senior Lecturer.
