Manufacturing Manager

The Company

A World Class finishing company offering Aluminum Chem-Milling, Processing, Prime and Paint, Polishing of Skin Quality Parts, Anodize and Alodine and Penetrant Inspection services to both aerospace and commercial customers. We seek a Manufacturing Manager to lead and direct the production processes to meet customer schedules and specifications, and quality requirements for painting, polishing, checmical-milling and machining of aircraft parts. This division is part of an innovative and leading supplier of quality components and solutions to the aerospace and technology industries. With thirteen facilities located in 2 Regions (Central and Western) and over 800 dedicated employees, we fabricate, machine, finish and integrate formed, close tolerance aluminum and specialty alloy components. We serve the aerospace, technology and commercial (non-aerospace) industries.

Description

The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the hourly workforce and support personnel. Manage resources effectively on all shifts to meet corporate revenue/efficiency goals. Meet customer schedules, specifications and quality requirements for painting, polishing, chemical-milling and machining of aircraft parts.

Responsibilities

·  Assumes shared responsibility for plant performance along with General Manager.

· 

·  Select, train and motivate hourly workforce.

·  Collaborate with work centers and Regional Manager of Continuous Improvement to drive Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality.

·  Ensure standard work and best practices are implemented in all shifts.

·  Participate in supervisory and management meetings as required.

·  Coordinate smooth daily operation of all processes.

·  Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs), and Manufacturing Process Specifications and customer requirements.

·  Maintain knowledge and understanding of all QAPs, MPS, and customer specifications. Ensure their practical application to production processes.

·  Collaborate with production personnel to resolve customer quality issues.

·  Coordinate training for workforce in process and quality standards.

·  Facilitate training and development of supervisors (technical and leadership).

·  Assist quality and laboratory personnel to minimize the impact of tank additions and tank maintenance on production schedules.

·  Serve as the primary interface between production and other departments including shipping, planning, scheduling and quality.

·  Prepare production reports as required by General Manager.

·  Coach production in NADCAP compliances, audits and corrective action.

·  Oversee maintenance of facility and equipment.

Education and Experience

·  B.S. degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, checmical engineering or a related field.

·  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

·  Proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans

·  Minimim of 5 years management experience in aerospace metal finishing

·  Experience in training and coaching a World Class workforce.

Work Environment/Travel

Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Must be able to work extensive hours including some evenings and weekends. Occasional travel required..
