Position:Managing Editor-Current Conservation

Chief responsibilities: Coordinating the production of Current Conservation, a quarterly magazine.

Position: We invite applications from suitable candidates for the position of Managing Editor of the quarterly magazine Current Conservation at Dakshin Foundation. While this is a long-term position, we will initially offer a one-year contract to the successful candidate which will be renewed depending on the performance of the candidates. This position demands that the candidate be a highly self-motivated, independent, creative and enterprising individual who will fulfil the following responsibilities of this position:

  1. Managing production of the hard copy of the magazine, including but not limited to coordinating illustrations, design and content.
  2. Maintaining the CC website and online content, including social media.
  3. Developing and implementing a strategy for marketing and distribution of the magazine and other related outreach activities
  4. Overseeing the financial administrationof the magazine.
  5. Assist the Editorial team with fundraising for the magazine and coordinating with existing donors.

Location: The position will be based out of Dakshin’s office in Bangalore.

Candidates must possess the following basic qualifications/skills:

●A bachelor’s degree with 3-4 years of experience or master’s degree in any discipline.

●A broad understanding of topics related to ecology and environment

●Excellent organizational skills.

●Attention to detail and planning .

●Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including copy-editing.

Remuneration: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and work, in line with our internal policy.
