Position:Managing Editor-Current Conservation

Position: We invite applications from suitable candidates for the position of Managing Editor of the quarterly magazine Current Conservation at Dakshin Foundation. While this is a long-term position, we will initially offer a one-year contract to the successful candidate which will be renewed depending on the performance of the candidates. This position demands that the candidate be a highly self-motivated, independent, creative and enterprising individual who will fulfil the following responsibilities of this position:
- Managing production of the hard copy of the magazine, including but not limited to coordinating illustrations, design and content.
- Maintaining the CC website and online content, including social media.
- Developing and implementing a strategy for marketing and distribution of the magazine and other related outreach activities
- Overseeing the financial administrationof the magazine.
- Assist the Editorial team with fundraising for the magazine and coordinating with existing donors.
Location: The position will be based out of Dakshin’s office in Bangalore.
Candidates must possess the following basic qualifications/skills:
●A bachelor’s degree with 3-4 years of experience or master’s degree in any discipline.
●A broad understanding of topics related to ecology and environment
●Excellent organizational skills.
●Attention to detail and planning .
●Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English including copy-editing.
Remuneration: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and work, in line with our internal policy.
