Position Summary

The General Manager of Lake Geneva Canopy Tours has two key responsibilities: (1) profitable revenue generation for anexpanding business and (2) ensuring our guests have afun, safe and memorable experience. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who is creative, innovative, highly energetic and inspired to grow and develop a world class Outdoor Adventure Center.The position is full-time, year-round and will report to and collaborate with the business owners. Company Overview

Lake Geneva Canopy Tours (LGCT) has been in operation for four years and is located in Lake Geneva, WI. As a popular resort area, customers visit from throughout the Midwest including nearby Chicago and Milwaukee. Our property sits on 100 acres and offers a variety of eco adventures.For the ultimate thrill, participants traverse 8 different zip lines, 5 sky bridges, 3 spiral stairways and climb a one-of-a-kind "floating" double helix stairway while on our world class Canopy Tour. The High Ropes Excursion offers 16 different obstacles. Our almost 9 miles of Arbor Trails is designed to accommodate beginner to advanced Hiking and/or Mountain Biking. LGCT also offers customized Team Building programs. Open seven days a week during our peak season, March to November.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and duties include: Business, marketing and community relations;Develop budgets, monitor expenditures, maintain financial and participant activity reports; All aspects of managing employees, including: hiring, training, complete employee performance appraisals, disciplinary actions and assist with payroll; Office management; Maintain positive guest relations; Conduct research to stay current on industry development. The General Manager will also oversee course safety and inspections, in addition to participating inperiodic guide training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing and/or Recreation or equivalent experience
  • Ability to think entrepreneurially and work independently
  • Highly organized and collaborative work style
  • Experience in managing/supervising people
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Effectively able to communicate in writing and in person
  • Proven ability to develop and implement new processes and procedures with acute attention to safety and details
  • Skilled in all aspects of customer service
  • Skilled with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and early evenings

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • ACCT practitioner, ABEE certification, or Challenge Course Manager certification preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in the delivery of Adventure Education instructional experience for groups and individuals of all ages (Elementary School to Adult)
  • Marketing and website acumen
  • Background in zip line, canopy tour, high ropes & low ropes programs
  • Background in leading team developing programs
  • Experience in promoting and adhering to sustainability initiatives

Salary & Benefits

Base salary will align with experience plus performance-based bonuses. Relocation assistance may be available.
