A History of the Modern World since the French Revolution.The course opens with the major developments brought to World History by the French Revolution and covers topics like the Industrial Revolution and its consequences in 1830 and 1848 Revolutions, the Making of Large Nation States and their rivalry as Colonial Expansion of Europe in the last Quarter of the 19th Century. 20thCentury Politics: 1st and 2nd World Wars, the Russian Revolution and Resettlement of the World System in the Cold War Period.End of Cold War: World Order in the Era of Globalization.

Text Books– “ A History of Europe in the Modern World “ by Palmer, Colton and Kramer - Mc GrawHill , 11th edition and “The Essential World History, Volume 2 Since 1500” by William J. Duiker and Jackson Spielvogel (both booksavailable at the bookstore and one copy on the reserve shelf of this course at the library)

Grading: 2 Mid-term exams (20% of the final grade each,final exam (40% of final grade) attendance and quizzes(20 % of final grade)
