  1. Revisions to Bylaws, Procedures, and Complaint Form
    The board discussed revisions to the PAB Bylaws, Procedures, and Complaint Form, which will incorporate feedback from board representatives as well as from members of the PAB Administrative Advisory Group. The updated Bylaws, Procedures, and Complaint Form will be made available on the PAB website ( later this spring.
  2. PAB Four-Year Survey
    In light of the PAB’s four-year pilot program ending in 2018, a survey will be distributed to the campus community in order to gather feedback on the board, its mission, and its charge. The survey will be available online by the end of May. Board representatives will take the lead in sharing the survey with their constituents. Affiliates of UC Davis, as well as community members, are welcome to participate in the survey.
  3. Recruitment Update/Service Terms Ending in 2018
    The PABAdministrative Advisory Group currently is recruiting to fill a vacant board position representing UC Davis Health. The new representative is expected to join the board later this spring.
    The service terms for a number of PAB representatives will be ending in August 2018. Recruitment to fill the vacancies that they will leave will take place during the spring and summer. The campus community entities that are represented on the board will be invited to submit nominations to fill these vacancies. These entities may consider re-nominating someone who previously or currently serves on the board.
  4. Update on Partnership with First-Year Aggie Connections
    First-Year Aggie Connections (FYAC) recently reached out to the PAB to begin a conversation on potential partnership opportunities. The PAB Administrative Advisory Group is working with FYAC, as well as the UC Davis Police Department, to explore possibilities for working together.
  5. Updated Meeting Locations
    The PAB discussed location changes for upcoming closed session meetings.

Members of our campus and greater community are invited to the PAB's Spring 2018 Public Meeting to learn more about the board’s work and how to file a complaint, and raise any issues or concerns you may have. There will be two simultaneous meetings—one on the Davis campus and one on the Sacramento Health campus—with PAB representatives at each location.The format of the meeting is informal—please feel free to bring your lunch.

  1. NACOLE 2018 Conference
    September 30-October 4, 2018, St. Petersburg, Florida
    The PAB sends a number of board representatives as well as members of the PAB Administrative Advisory Group to the annual National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (NACOLE) conference.
  2. Upcoming Cases
    Confidential information was shared about recent complaints submitted to the PAB.
  1. Other Business
    A member of the PAB was contacted by the UC Staff Regent regarding the formation of a system-wide taskforce on policing.
    The PAB Administrative Advisory Group is working to schedule a board training, presented by the UC Davis Police Department, on lawful stops and use of force.
