Lon Morris College provides limited housing for our students. Housing will be administered on a “first-come, first served” basis. To reserve your on-campus room, this form must be completed and on file in the Campus Life Office along with your housing application fee. The receipt date and time of your application and fee will be used to determine priority for housing assignments; therefore, make every effort to submit your application and fee promptly. Preferences will be considered, but all rooms will be assigned by availability.

TERM AND CONDITIONS OF ASSIGNMENT TO RESIDENCE LIFE

The purpose of Residence Life is to provide a safe and comfortable place to live while pursuing an education at LonMorrisCollege. This contract is not a rental agreement. It is instead a covenant between Lon Morris College and a student, wherein the student has the right to expect Lon Morris to supply adequate furnishings, a reasonably clean and quiet environment conducive to study and rest, and high regard for the safety of the students. The students, in turn, are expected to live by the terms of this contract as outlined below and by the code of conduct outlined in the Lon Morris Student Handbook.

1. Each application for a room space must be accompanied by a $200.00 nonrefundable room reservation fee.* Residents in all Campus housing are responsible for damages to furniture, fixtures, alarms, walls, doors, windows, etc, and will be charged for any damage to said items at the time the damages is discovered.

2.Students must supply their own bedding including: pillows, pillow cases, blankets, sheets, and bedspreads. Students must also furnish towels, shower curtains, waste baskets, irons, etc, all personal items and bathroom tissue. Most small electrical appliances are allowed but some require special deposits. The college is not responsible for loss by fire, theft or other causes in any campus housing facility.

3. Assignments are made for the full semester and full payment is due in advance of taking occupancy. Moves made within aresidence or from one residence to another must be approved by the Director of Campus Life

4. All students living in LMC housing must participate in a Boarding Plan.

5. Payment of a housing fee covers occupancy from the official opening of the campus residence until the posted closing time at the end of any semester, Thanksgiving Break, Spring Break, and Easter Break. Closing times for these breaks will be posted and each student will be notified.

6. The college specifically reserves the right to: (a) cancel or change any assignment in the interests of the resident group study conditions, enforcement of policies governing conduct and procedure, in the interests of health, sanitation, safety, in cases of recognizable emergency; (b) enter the quarters for inspection, cleaning, repairs or maintenance; (c) levy and collect, whenever necessary or practical, charges for improper conduct, damages to rooms or property, losses of equipment, extra equipment or permissible electrical appliances and failure to observe published policy and procedure.

7. In the interest of health, safety, and the protection of property, keeping pets, possession or use of drugs or alcohol, use of tobacco products, possession of firearms, explosives (including firecrackers), candles or incense, gambling, roughhousing, and construction by residents are prohibited. The possession or use of kerosene, gasoline, benzene, naptha, or any similar flammable substance is strictly prohibited. Areas immediately adjacent to the residence halls may be used for bicycle storage but may not be used for sporting activities.

8. Guest are welcome in LMC housing according to visitation guidelines. Overnight guests must obtain a guest pass from the Director of Campus Life or other designated person. All guests are expected to adhere to the LonMorrisCollege rules and regulations, and a guest’s behavior is the responsibility of their campus host/hostess.

9. Food and drink are allowed in specific designated areas in each residence. Cooking with an open flame is not allowed in or near any building. A list of approved appliances will be available with room assignments.

10. Respect for the right of all students to have a safe and quiet environment in which to study and sleep demands that students are expected to maintain reasonable quiet at all times and absolute quiet during designated quiet hours.

11. The College reserves the right to enter any room for routine room inspections, maintenance checks, when safety of the student is in question and/or when there is reasonable suspicion to believe that regulations of the school, the city, the state, or the country are being violated.

SUMMARY: Acceptable standards of behavior are a requirement of Residence Life. Living in LMC housing requires cooperative limit-setting, consideration for other residents, behavior conducive to study, sleep, healthy lifestyles, and safety. Every student is expected to contribute to this process and to cooperate in every way possible.

AGREEMENT: I have read the “Term and Conditions of Assignment to Campus Living” and agree to live by the standards and regulations set forth herein and to attempt to uphold these regulations that have been established to enhance student life at Lon Morris College.

HOUSING INFORMATION DESCRIPTION & COST

BROWN HALL:

A two story structure that house up to 84 students. Rooms are suite arranged and have individual A/C and heat controls. It is located near the Fine Arts Building, gymnasium, soccer field, and pool on the South end of the campus. Laundry facilities are available in the hall.

CLARK HALL:

A two story brick structure that house up to 56 students. Rooms are suite arranged and have individual A/C and heat controls. It is located near the FineArtsBuilding, BrownHall, driving range and sand volleyball court on the South end of the campus. Laundry facilities are available in the hall.

CRAVEN-WILSON HALL:

A two story structure that house up to 66 students. Rooms are suite arranged and have full kitchen and dining area. It is located near the Chapel, Fair Hall, Big Al’s Pub, LMC Lodge, and sand volleyball court on the North end of the campus. Laundry facilities are available in the hall.

FAIR HALL:

A two story building that houses up to 106 students. Rooms are suite arranged and have individual A/C and heat controls. It is located near the Chapel, Craven-Wilson Hall, LMC Cafeteria and Bookstore, Big Al’s Pub, and sand volleyball court on the North end of the campus. Laundry facilities are available in the hall.

LMC COTTAGES:

Located on Brown Street on the West side of campus near the Wilson Administration Building, Campus Security and Office of Admissions, the Cottages at LMC are remodeled homes owned by the college to facilitate group housing. *College will provide bed(frame and mattress), closet space, study area, and drawers.

LMC LODGE:

Located near the Chapel andCraven-Wilson Hall on the North end of the campus, the LMC Lodge houses 114 students. The Lodge is Lon Morris College’s new residence hall. *College will provide bed(frame and mattress), closet space, study area, and drawers, and laundry facilities.

COOPER HOUSE:

Located adjacent to Chapel, the Cooper House is duplex style two bedroom two story units each complete with a commons area. Designed for a smaller living community. Residents must be students for at least on semester and are selected by committee. *College will provide bed(frame and mattress), closet space, study area, drawers, and laundry facilities.

LMC INN:

Located within 2 miles of campus. Residents enjoy weekly housekeeping. Television, mini fridge, microwave and bedding is provided. Shuttles provide transportation between campus & hotel.

HOUSING FEES:

Brown, Clark, Craven-Wilson, & Fair halls are $3000 per year plus $200 housing application fee.

All Cottages, Cooper House, LMC Lodge, & LMC Innare $3500 per year plus $200 housing application fee.
