> Introduction

Welcome to the Physics of the Earth and Space. In this course we will investigate the Earth’s place in the Universe by looking at the life cycles of stars, including our own sun. We will learn about how the Earth moves through space and the processes that power nuclear fusion. We will learn about how humans have impacted our earth and how energy moves into and through the Earth. This class will provide the basics for physics and Earth-Space Science together.

> Course Objectives

  • Students will be able to explain the formation of the universe and its parts.
  • Students will be able to calculate and solve motion, wave, and momentum problems.
  • Students will be able to analyze collisions and moving objects in space
  • Students will be able to explain energy use and transfer on Earth.
  • Students will be able to explain resource use, availability, and cycles on Earth
