Phi Kappa Pi Joe Ghiz Memorial Award

To provide an annual award to a student enrolled in a graduate degree program at Dalhousie University who has demonstrated both community life involvement and university life involvement.

  Application deadline: October 31st.

  Masters or Doctoral level students at Dalhousie University.

  Students with a first class standing (GPA 3.7/4.3 or higher).

  The Award is valued at $750.00

  Student must be full time and registered in current term in order to apply for or receive the Award.

  If the qualification of final applicants are equal or in close approximation to each other, preference will be given to the applicant who is a member of Phi Kappa Pi. Such membership must be confirmed in writing by Phi Kappa Pi.

  The student awarded the Award will be notified by letter or email approximately two weeks after the closing date.

  All sections of the application must be completed

  There are no appeals on the decision of the Award

Applicants are required to submit in addition to this application:

  One sealed letter of reference regarding community or university involvement.

  A signed one-page personal statement articulating the applicant’s involvement in community life and in university life.
