JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a man in my 50’s living at home with my wife and small dog in Tonyrefail. I had a stroke at the end of last year so need support at home and whilst out and about. The stroke has impaired my speech and mobility but I’ve had extensive rehab therapies that have helped me to improve. As a young man I served in The Welsh Guards before becoming the manager of a local furniture store. I have a keen interest in rugby and I’ve always been involved with the rugby club. I used to arrange rugby tours and social trips and know almost everyone locally. I’m a massive sports fan. I support Liverpool and Swansea City for football and love to watch Tonyrefail play rugby. I will watch any sports and love to chat about upcoming matches and fixtures. My wife and I have 2 children and one grandchild. We’re a close family and we’ve always enjoyed travelling and going on holiday. My favourite place is Turkey. When we weren’t on holiday I loved having family get together’s and BBQ’s and we regularly socialised with friends. I also sang in the Richard Williams choir and would like to continue my hobby of choir singing in a local choir to help with aphasia. I use a walking stick now to mobilise and I enjoy walking around the block or to the local rugby club. I also attend my local pub once a week. My speech is impaired but as I get used to someone and relax I find it easier. People who are close to me often help out by telling me the first letter and I can then use the words more easily.
