Perry High School Mission Statement

Every student will graduate from Perry High School with a foundation of knowledge and skills for future success.

Remember everyone…this is a team effort! I, as your teacher, and you, as the students, WE need to work together in maintaining a comfortable and safe learning environment for all. It is expected that all students respect and understand the following:

1. All rules, procedures, guidelines, and expectations from the Perry High School

Handbook apply.

2. Inappropriate language and/or behavior will not be tolerated. Additional

assignments may be given for failure to comply.

a. Absolutely no food, gum, or drink is permitted in the classroom at any

time, with the exception of bottled water.

b. Electronic Devices are not allowed in class(cell phones, i-pods, etc…).

They will be taken away if seen and sent up to the attendance office, at

the teacher’s convenience, by the end of the school day.

c. On specified occasions, (ex: projects), teacher approval of electronic

devices is required prior to date of usage.

5. RESTROOM POLICY

Students are responsible for doing a few things prior to leaving the room. One, sign the class time sheet and two, take your restroom pass with you when leaving. Lastly, sign back in when returning to class. It is preferred students use the restroom at the end of class or when done completing individual work.

Students are to use the restroom prior to a quiz and/or test being administered, not during the test. Students will not be allowed to leave once a test and/or quiz has been distributed.

Remember, the student is responsible for his/her actions while in the halls and the restroom itself. It is also the student’s responsibility to obtain any information (at the appropriate time) while he/she was gone from class. Please be mindful, obtaining information for an assignment does not include copying from a classmate. The student will earn a 0. Assignments are still due at the designated time in class.

6. HOMEWORK POLICY

Homework is expected to be turned in on time with the student’s name on

the assignment prior to turning it in for credit.

Homework cannot be turned in late. Projects can be turned in late up to

one week only being able to earn a max of 70% of the assignment’s total

points.

Also, e-mail assignments are not accepted. If a student needs help printing an assignment, he/she is welcome to come by after school for printing assistance (the assignment is still due once class begins).Computer Labs and the Library are available for assistance as well (see times).

7. TARDY POLICY

If a student is NOT in his/her assigned seat prior to the late bell, then the student will be marked tardy. Students will not be allowed into the classroom without a tardy pass from the attendance office. They are also not to interrupt the class upon entering the room.

8. If a student has a “D” or lower, it is mandatory the student come in the

morningor after school to complete any applicable and acceptable make-up work. The student is responsible for taking the initiative in knowing if he/she is required to come in, and is also responsible for signing the sign-in sheet once attending.

9. GRADING POLICY

Grades will be determined by a total points possible score.

100%-90=A, 89%-80=B, 79%-70=C, 69%-60=D, 59% & below=F

The Semester Grade will be based on the 40:40:20 calculation.

Progress Reports will be available for your student. They are a form of teacher-parent communication. Students with a 70% or lower are required to get their progress reports signed by their parent(s)/guardian(s). Please refer to the school website for applicable dates.
