Athletics Ontario Host Annual Awards Gala and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Athletics Ontario is thrilled to once again host the annual Awards Gala and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony September 24, 2016, at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites. This years’ Gala will kick off with a cash bar and cocktail hour starting at 3:00 P.M. followed by the Awards Gala at 4:00 P.M.

Tickets for the Gala go on sale August 4 and can be purchased on Trackie.

Athletics Ontario member pricing:

Early Bird Price (Aug 4-31): $55

Regular (Sep 1-17): $60

Late (Sep18-24): $75

Non-member pricing:

Ticket cost (Aug 4- Sep 17): $65

Late (Sep18-24): $75

Nominations

Athletes:

Nominations for the 2016 Awards are being accepted now! Nominations for athletes will be accepted for male and female athletes in all five age groups for the following categories:

• Sprints/Hurdles,
• Distance/ XC/ Road,
• Throws,
• Jumps,
• Combined Events.

To nominate an athlete, please complete the nomination form.The deadline to nominate athletes is August 22, 2016 at 11:59 pm

Coach:

Do you have or know an outstanding coach? Here is your chance to let the world know! Nominate a coach for the Athletics Ontario Coach of the Year Award!

Volunteer:

We could not do what we do without the assistance of our volunteers. Take a moment tonominate a volunteer who has dedicated their time to the sport for the Volunteer of the Year Award.

c.Officiating at National/International meets.

3.Additional criteria which may be considered but notrequired:Educational and LeadershipContributions:

a.serving as a mentor for officials wishing to upgrade;

b.being mentored for personalupgrading;

c.serving as a clinician for officials wishing to upgrade

d.attending clinics/seminars for personal upgrading;

e.other contributions related toofficiating.

Silent Auction and Online Auction

The AO Awards Gala will be conducting a silent auction, but new for 2016, we will also host an online auction! The online auction will be available September 12-16, 2016! The auction will contain a variety of experiences and products. All funds raised from the auction will go to support AO’s various development programs for athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers.
