Crucial Drinks is an exciting, ambitious multi-category luxury spirits portfolio. That has tripled its revenue over the previous two years. The business is now bringing some key roles directly under its control. Following the success of The Lost Distillery Company, Crucial has followed this up with launches in Rum & broader segments of the Scotch Whisky category.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced, well organised and thorough individual to join Crucial Drinks. The role will require the individual to work autonomously, with little supervision and thus personal maturity is a pre-requisite. Core to any role with Crucial Drinksis everyone’s contribution to positioning the company as the preferred partner of all our stakeholders by being “the best” to work with.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping and Credit Control. Success in this role will be defined by the smooth and seamless operation of our Xero and Dear accounting and stock control systems.

The position is on a part-time basis with some flexibility around working hours amounting to 14-21 hours per week.

Crucial Drinks has ambitious and aggressive growth plans and this role could give the right candidate the opportunity to progress the career in future years in senior administrative, sales, marketing, production or logistics roles.

The position reports into the Joint Managing Director.

SMARTER Performance Objectives

  1. Managing Xero: Issuing and uploading invoices and purchase orders into our Xero system.
  2. Inputting into DEAR: Managing the information flow into DEAR, our stock control system ensuring that our systems are accurate.
  3. Credit Control: Manage the inflow of cash into the business improving our cash collection times.
  4. Finance Inbox: Managing the finance email box, diverting emails to the appropriate person and answering queries.
  5. Expenses: Manage submission of expenses receipts from the Directors in an appropriate format.
  6. Processes: Embed new financial processes and ensure existing processes are adhered to.
  7. Liaison: Liaise with CFO and third-party accountants to align all parties.

About The Candidate

  • Competent in all areas of Microsoft Office
  • Previous Accounting/Bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of Xero and its operations
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, willing to embrace change.
  • Go do attitude. Able to recommend and, with help, drive change and improvement.
  • Maturity to drive their own personal work schedule with little supervision.
  • Strong work ethic, able to adapt to varying hours.

Salary & Package Details

The position is office based but may require some elements of travel within the UK.

  • Salary: Competitive.
  • 21 hours per week – flexible working.
