DRIVING & COACHING TECHNIQUES

In September,I was invited again to Sesena Water Ski & Wakeboard complex Near Madrid, Spainto drive all the practice for Under 21 World championships. This allows me to maintain my driving skills plus meet up with and discuss the latest coaching techniques with some of the best coaches and skiers in the world.

CUTTING EDGE & ON THE EDGE

This is a Really good scheme designed to encourage youth and mature people to initially get a taster session of the various elements of our sport. There are subsequent levels that participants can be introduced to with a tick system to show they have achieved the next level and encourage them on to greater things.

CLUBS

Aberdeen Water Ski Club

Still with ongoing issues with their landlord which is making it difficult for them to operate as they used to.

Kyle Water Ski Club

I spent another enjoyable day coaching at the club. Unfortunately, the weather on this occasion was less than great. I have plans to arrange an early season group session to take place at the NTS next season.

Loch Lomond Ski & Wake Board

Another successful season for Raymond's crew. With guest coaches that help local riders to improve their skills.

Foxlake

Foxlake are going from strength to strength offering many additional activities in addition to their cable boarding facilities.

GENERAL LASCELLES FUND

Marisa Alongi and Georgina Hutchison have been awarded funds from the above scheme. Most will know Georgie but not so many will be aware of the success that Marisa has achieved in Ski Racing she has competed all over the world with Team GB.

Marisa comes to the NTS to get water time practising on trick skis, wakeboards and slalom skis to aid in her balance and recovery responses to the hugely varying water conditions she finds in her events.

SPORTS AID SCOTLAND

There were three participants that have gained funding through the above scheme this season. Blair Fraser from Wake Boarding, Marisa Alongi from Ski Racing and Georgina Hutchison from Tournament Water Skiing.

COMPETITION

The usual competitions were held at the NTS during the season. The Night Slalom Series, Scottish Open, John Buchan Memorial and the Scottish Native. I will let Andrew and Campbell update on the results of the above.
