To All Paymate Acclaim users of Blue Link,

In the near future Paymate will be releasing an update for Paymate Acclaim with data structure changes.

If you are a user of Paymate Acclaim[i], you will need an updated version of the software that exports Paymate Acclaim payroll data to Blue Link.

Important: The software from Blue Link must be installed only once after you have installed Paymate Acclaim and before you export GL data to Blue Link.

Summary of Steps:

  1. Install the Updated Version of Paymate Acclaim (containing the new data structure).
  2. Download the updated export tool from: or from ftp://bluelink.ca/Paymate/BLPaymate2007.zip.
  3. Follow the instructions listed below to implement the file.

Important: Please implement these files ONLY after installing the new Paymate Acclaim.

Below is a detailed set of instructions for installing the updated application file, and is targeted at users running Blue Link version 9 or later (customers running Blue Link v8.6 and below should contact BlueLink’s support desk if assistance is required).

Versions 9.0 and Above

For v9.0 and above, both Access and SQL, Paymate Import is done from with Blue Link.

  • Please unzip and place the files into the C:\Program Files\Blue Link\Solutions SQL\ folder, or whatever folder contains the Elite(SQL).mde.
  • To find the exact folder you are using:
  • Right-click the Blue Link shortcut and click on Properties.
  • On the shortcut tab, copy and paste the “Target” path to Word or Notepad to see the entire path. It should look something like:
    "C:\Program Files\Access 2003 Runtime\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE" /runtime /nostartup /excl "C:\Program Files\Blue Link\Solutions SQL\EliteSQL.MDE"
  • The information after /excl (excluding .mde file) is the folder into which the BLPaymate2007.zip files need to be extracted, overwriting any existing files.
  • Once this is done, the next time you go to Import from Paymate, you MUST browse to the paymate\year folder from ‘Step 1 – Select the path to the Paymate Data File:’ browse button of the Paymate Payroll Import screen – example - C:\PAYMATEW\Demo.cpy\2007
  • This will automatically copy the required files into the Paymate folder.
  • Now Paymate Import will work the way it always has.

Older Versions

Pre version 9 Blue Link imports from Paymate using an external program. Blue LinkPaymate Integration.

Please unzip and place the files into the C:\PaymateW folder or whatever folder Paymate has been installed to.

  • To find the exact folder you are using, right click on your Blue Link Paymate Integration shortcut and click on Properties.
  • On the shortcut tab, copy and paste the “Target” path to Word or Notepad to see the entire path. It should look something like:
    "C:\Program Files\Access 97 Runtime\Msaccess.exe" /runtime "C:\PaymateW\PaymateTransfer.mde"
  • The Information after /runtime (excluding .mde file) is the folder into which the BLPaymate2007.zip files need to be extracted, overwriting existing files.
  • Once this is done, the next time you go to Import from Paymate, you MUST browse to the paymate\year folder from Main Menu – ‘Path to Paymate Data File:’ – example C:\Paymatew\Demo.cpy\2007
  • This will automatically copy the required files into the Paymate folder.
  • Now Paymate Import will work the way it always has.
