PAY PLAN DEFINITIONS

PAY PLAN / NAME / DESCRIPTION
01 / CAREER SERVICE / Includes all positions not specifically exempted from Career Service under the provisions of Section 110.205(2), Florida Statutes, or other provision of Law.
03 / LEGISLATURE / Classification and Pay Plan approved by the Senate, House of Representatives, Legislative Budget Committee, or the Legislative Auditing Committee, as the case may be, for employees of the Legislature. This does not include the elected Senators or Representatives or persons appointed to fill those vacancies.
04 / SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF & THE BLIND / The academic personnel and academic administrative personnel of the FloridaSchool for the Deaf and the Blind. The salaries shall be set by the board of trustees for the school, subject only to the approval of the State Board of Education.
05 / ELECTED & APPOINTED / Includes elected and appointed officials who are paid a fixed salary that has been set by the Legislature. (See Pay Plan 15 and 16)
06 / MILITARY AFFAIRS / Includes all military personnel of the Department of Military Affairs. Military personnel includes any person who is required to wear a military uniform in performing his or her official duties and who is required to serve in the Florida National Guard as a condition of his or her employment by the department. Classes will have their salary set in accordance with the military pay schedule.
07 / EXEMPT FROM CAREER SERVICE / Executive Office of the Governor—Non-Selected Exempt Service, Non-Senior Management Service. Classes will have their salary set as if a Career Service class.
08 / SELECTED EXEMPT SERVICE / Includes all positions assigned to the Selected Exempt Service.
09 / SENIOR MANAGEMENT SERVICE / Includes all positions assigned to the Senior Management Service.
15 / FIXED SALARY (SMS BENEFITS) / Elected and Appointed officials who have opted to receive SMS benefits.

24 / STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM—EXECUTIVE / Administrative and Professional employees (equivalent to Senior Management Service employees)
31 / DEPARTMENT OF THE LOTTERY / Non-managerial employees (comparable to Career Service employees)
33 / DEPARTMENT OF THE LOTTERY / Managerial employees
81 / STATE COURTS SYSTEM / Positions in the State Court System (See Pay Plan 86)
82 / STATE ATTORNEYS / State Attorneys (See Pay Plan 87)
83 / PUBLIC DEFENDERS / Public Defenders (See Pay Plan 88)
84 / JUSTICE ADMINISTRATIVE COMMISSION / Justice Administrative Commission—non attorney employees (some of the classifications receive employer paid insurance)
85 / CAPITAL COLLATERAL REGIONAL COUNSELS / Justice Administrative Commission— Capital Collateral Regional Counsels employees (some of the classifications receive employer paid insurance)
86 / STATE COURT SYSTEM—PAID INSURANCE / State Court System employees who are to receive employer paid insurance.
87 / STATE ATTORNEYS—PAID INSURANCE / State Attorney employees who are to receive employer paid insurance.
88 / PUBLIC DEFENDERS—PAID INSURANCE / Public Defenders employees who are to receive employer paid insurance.
