Job Title: Content & Communications Manager

Reports To: USMCA Board

Location: Temecula, CA

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Content & Communications Manager is responsible for areas of communications and content development/management for a not-for-profit organization known as the United States Motorcycle Coaching Association. Some of the specific duties involved include drafting and creating content for the USMCA and its certification programs, liaising with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), uploading content to the USMCA channels, websites and apps, working alongside developers to create the content, monitoring progress, maintaining databases, preparing reports and managing communication with coaches, corporate partners and the Board of Directors. This person serves as the central contact point at the USMCA and is responsible for communications activities both internal and external facing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Works with Board of Directors to create and publish content for certification programs and policies

·  Drafts and composes written communications such as press releases, internal and external documents, social media posts, etc.

·  Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term targets

·  Collaborate with team and outside agencies to plan and develop content for website and social media channels; maintains website, social media channels, and digital apps

·  Edit, proofread and improve readability of documents including promotional materials, brochures, and handbooks

·  Liaise with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for content development collaboration

·  Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms; work to optimize content according to SEO

·  Develop a communications calendar

·  Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)

·  Communicates with interested coaches and current members to troubleshoot or answer questions; Responsible for answering all emails that are delivered to and messages received through Facebook, Instagram, etc.

·  Prepares executive level reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing coaching certification data

·  Partners with USMCA Board of Directors in managing USMCA presence at events (including, Annual Summit, USA Cycling Summit, Workshops, AIME, etc.)

·  Monitors and adheres to established campaign budgets

·  May perform other duties assigned including but not limited to developing and implementing print and digital ad campaigns, development of marketing communications materials, etc.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally requires a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in communications, content management, marketing, copyrighting, public relations, customer service, project management and/or public service. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and understanding of public relations. Knowledge of motorcycle industry and trends is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of social media marketing and information technology.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred.

·  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be team player

·  Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative

·  Knowledge of basic website functionality, SEO and web traffic metrics

·  Knowledge of best practices for social media marketing and digital marketing

·  Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven and constantly changing environment

·  Ability to manage multiple projects independently

·  Flexibility to switch gears with little notice

·  Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues

·  Basic math skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate. Other factors are:
