Part-Time Consulting Opportunity– Membership and Marketing
The Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY) seeks a passionate young adult to support the Illinois Juvenile Justice Commission’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) as a Membership and Marketing Consultant.
Specific job responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and managing recruitment of youth to participate in the YAB
- Managing YAB’s social media and community presence
- Working with new members to become acclimated to YAB goals/priorities
- Supportingall YAB projects
A preferred candidate will possess the following:
- Age 16-25
- Experience, knowledge, and passion re: juvenile justice issues
- Strong writing, public speaking, and organizational skills
- History of working on projects independently
- Past participation in the YAB
This opportunity is for a consultant position. Selected candidates will enter into a contractual agreement with ICOY. Selected candidates will not be ICOY employees, receive benefits, or have payroll taxes deducted from pay. Work will be directed and evaluated by specific contractual deliverables. Selected candidates will receive “1099” forms and will be obligated to pay all applicable taxes.
The consultant will be paid $15 per hour. The number of hours worked per week will vary depending on the needs of the work. ICOY has budgeted an average of 20 hours per week.

- Providing regular communication to YAB participants about meetings and activities
- Planning meetings and identifying speakers/trainers
- Coordinating logistics for all YAB activities including meeting spaces and agendas
- Supportingall YAB projects
A preferred candidate will possess the following:
- Age 16-25
- Experience, knowledge and passion re: juvenile justice issues
- Strong writing, public speaking, and organizational skills

- Planning special events/retreats
