Dear: Parents/Guardians

The Yorkton Branch of the Saskatchewan Abilities Council invites your child to participate in the 18h Annual Summer Fun Program. The program is for children with any type of disability between the ages of 6 and 22 years of age and promotes fun and integration into the community through recreational and leisure activities. Through interaction with program participants your child will develop friendships, independence, personal growth, and maturity. The program will begin July 2, 2014 and will end August 22, 2014. Participants will be divided into two groups, depending on their age and ability.

Summer Fun

Who: Elementary School aged children

When: Monday through Thursday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Where: Location to be announced, in town outings

SLYP-Out (Social Leisure Youth Program)

Who: High School aged children up to 22 years of age

Where: For all SLYP-Out activities participants will meet at the Parkland Ability Centre

When: Monday and Wednesday afternoons 1:00pm – 4:00 pm

Program Focus: employer visits, job readiness skills, life skills and social skills

AND

When: Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Program Focus: social, leisure and recreational activities (movies, swimming, disc golf etc)

Enclosed please find an Application Form that consists of a Consent Agreement for Photograph/Story as well as a Quick Reference page. Please fill this out to the best of your ability so we will know how to best assist your child.

If you wish your child to participate in the program, please submit the application form by June 20, 2014 as there is limited space available and applications are processed on a first come-first served basis.
