General

  1. The King Alfred the Great Cycling Challenge (KATGCC)will take place from the Nuffield Pavilion, RNAS Yeovilton, Somerset on Thu 4 Jun 15, commencing at 1100. It is based on a sportive style event which is intendedto encourage military personnel to get on their bikes with other like-minded individuals in order to embrace a slightly more challenging environment than their usual daily commute. All abilities and genders of ages 16+ are strongly recommended to give this a go, as the course has been carefully created to be interesting, taking in the climb up to King Alfred’s Tower. However, due to the topography of Somersetthere will be less ascending and descending compared to the West Country Blazing Saddles, so it should appeal more to the novice riders.
