Learning outcomes/objectives / At the end of the module, the students will be able to:
integrate knowledge of key concepts of pathophysiology and paramedic practice.
Apply knowledge of pathophysiology and the behavioural sciences in decision-making about clients.
Content / The clinical reasoning process, models of decision-making and assessment frameworks

  • Overdose Emergencies
  • Mental Health Emergencies
  • Burns
  • Acid Base Imbalance
  • Pathologies in Childhood & differences to adult physiology

Teaching and learning strategies / The module will be largely delivered through scenario-based learning. Some aspects of pathophysiology will be delivered through lectures and the use of the Student Central generic A&P resources folder.
