1 / Michaela Sharpley, the Chair, welcomed the attendees and reported that the plan for today’s forum was a presentation by Hannah SheadfromTrevie House.
2 / Hannah Shead (HS):
  • Introduction around Trevi House. First opened in 1993.
  • Aims of the project are to avoid Mum and Child being separated by social care.
  • Joint funding comes from adult and children social care for the placement over a 6 month period. Project works throughout the UK and includes pregnant women.
  • Occupancy of 10 parents and their children- on site nursery/baby room. Specialist staff. Focus on psychological well being.
  • Quality time spent with Mum over lunch/evenings and weekends.
  • Parenting observations
  • Overnight supervisions and support from staff. All parenting done by Mum.
  • Detox-methadone/subuteux. Freedom planning/parenting group/recovery training/self esteem/heartfelt craft/You & me/ 1-2-1 therapy/badminton sessions/personal presentations/volunteering
  • Focus on underlying issue not addiction.
  • Ethos- shared for both mother and child. Strengths based approach/ trauma informed. Nurturing environment. Modelling of healthy interactions. Attachment focused.
  • After Trevi- support via social media. Free aftercare package. Free recovery renewal. Can come back to Trevi at anytime for a visit.

3 / Michaela led a discussion on the list of boroughs being represented at the forum and which boroughs were not. / Madeline Rudolph to send Michaela list of all agencies within the London Boroughs to be contacted to attend the forum.
