The Eden Unit
Philosophy of Care
The Eden Unit represents a new partnership between Tayside, Grampian and Highland Health Boards. It takes referrals from these areas and also from Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles.
Here in the Eden Unit our multidisciplinary team are committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients suffering from eating disorders and their families.
We offer patients a calm environment with a climate of honesty and openness. Each patient will have an individually designed programme to reinstate both physical and psychological wellbeing. We offer the chance to develop and practice living skills and to fully involve patients in planning their own recovery.
Our flexible discharge policy, including our day patient programme, provides supportive aftercare to ensure continuing recovery.

The Eden Unit Team
The Eden Unit is led by the Unit Manager. On arrival at the unit you will meet your key worker or another member of the team.
Your key worker is responsible for discussing, planning and implementing your individual needs with regards to the care you require and evaluating that care.
The Eden Unit aims to promote a relaxed, happy atmosphere which will enable you, with our help, to achieve the necessary level of independence you require for your discharge. Your care from staff will continue until you are ready for discharge and may include involvement and discussion with your family if you wish.
Admission
You will be allocated a bed on admission and every step will be taken to try and not cause you any disruption by asking you to move beds. Unfortunately this cannot be guaranteed if your room/bed area is required for someone who may require more intense medical observation.
