This proposal is to add a choice of electives in the AAS-General Technology degree plan.
The elective additions would be:
Please add the following Gen Tech courses to the 24-hour and 9-hour elective sections of the AAS-Gen Tech degree audit:
BIOL 2214 A&P 1 with Lab
BIOL 2224 A&P 2 with Lab
BIOL 2014 Microbiology with Lab
EMT 1107 Basic Emergency Medical Tech
Need for the proposal / (Provide data on student interest, job availability, corporate demands, and employment projections. Focus on need in North Central Arkansas: is there sufficient demand, etc.)
These courses would allow pre-nursing to be placed in this degree plan to prepare for the nursing program. They would be able to receive financial aid and work toward the AAS-GT prior to being admitted to the nursing program.
