performing numbers from 5 years of the most iconic showtunes ever sung!
PORTLAND, Oregon (October 13, 2017) – Celebrating five years of performances in the Portland area, Portland's Furriest Singers, the BROADWAY BEARS, are back with two special concerts at Darcelle XV Showplace! Titled “BEST OF SHOW,” the BROADWAY BEARS will perform iconic songs from the musical realm of stage and screen, chosen from their 5-years repertoire, from comedy to drama to mystery to sexy, in their trademark entertaining way… complete with furry faces!
The BROADWAY BEARS, “Portland's Furriest Singers,” are Andy Mangels, Bobby Jackson, Darin MacLeod, Donnie Vecchione, and Michael Chavez. For this special fifth-anniversary concert, special guests (past members) include Nathan Meckley, Johnny Cakes Amundson, Mark Steering, and Cory Clinton. The members of the quintet have decades of stage experience encompassing theatrical, choral, opera, television, film, and teaching arenas. BROADWAY BEARS was founded in mid-2011 by Andy Mangels, and the group has performed charitable concerts and at local events in 2012-2017, including a popular and bravura opening concert at 2015’s 20th anniversary of Peacock in the Park at Washington Park Amphitheatre.
With all live singing in solos, duet, trio, and group numbers, the “BEST OF SHOW” concerts will be a star-studded performance. The two acts feature 25 songs and medleys from stage productions and films such as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, The Producers, Side Show, Company, Hairspray, Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, A Chorus Line, Sunday in the Park with George, Chess, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Evita, Wicked, Funny Girl, Hello Dolly, Gypsy, A Star Is Born, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Aspects of Love, Song & Dance, Jesus Christ Superstar, Spamalot, (Sorta) Love Songs, The Quest For Camelot, The Wizard Of Oz, and Hair!
Both concerts will be at Darcelle XV Showplace, doors at 6:30pm, show from 7-9pm. Tickets are $10 in advance from brownpapertickets.com or $15 at the door ($10 for seniors or students).
