P/TWorkplace Representatives Training Lead (17.5 Hours per Week)

£36,165 - £45,231 (plus £4,712 London Weighting) pa pro rata

(Please note, the appointment will be made on the first point of the salary scale (unless by exception).

London (with nationwide travel)

The key purpose of the post is to design and deliver residential training courses for RCM Workplace Representatives, including developing learning outcomes and curricula in locations throughout England (a flexible approach to work is required).

The post holder will ensure a matrix approach underpins all working relationships.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate the agreed RCM behaviours.

The post holder is responsible to the Head of Organising and Engagement.

The post holder is accountable to the Director for Services to Members.

Accountabilities

  • Design and deliver residential training courses for RCM Workplace Representatives;
  • Design and support the delivery of RCM Workplace Representatives training days;
  • Produce bespoke training materials and documentation for both face-to-face training and for online courses;
  • Facilitate and support participants in the online elements of workplace rep training and other training as appropriate
  • Contribute to the updating and development of RCM Regional/National Officers;
  • Collaborate across all RCM Educational and Learning activities;
  • Evaluate content, delivery and impact of training; and
  • Ensure data is handled and managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • Degree level or equivalent

Desirable

  • Appropriate teaching qualification or willingness to undertake City & Guilds (or similar) ‘Preparation to Teach’ course.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Evidence of developing and delivering learning and training to a professional workforce
  • Experience and expertise in a blended approach to face to face and e-learning content delivery
  • Experience of online facilitation and tutoring of learners

Desirable

  • Knowledge of employment and professional issues as they relate to the NHS
  • Experience as a workplace representative
  • Experience of trade unions and/or professional associations
  • Experience of authoring online course content
