Overview of Dept/Job Purpose
Reporting to the Multimedia Editor and working closely withthe widerContent Development Team members within the Content Marketing department, the post-holder is responsible for working with the team members and internal colleagues and supporting the team with theproduction and delivery ofmultimediaContent across VisitScotland.
Working within the Content Development Team, the Assistant Content Executivewill assist the team with accurate multimediaContentsourcing, maintenance and archiving. The post-holder will ideally have some experience of working with video or photography. The post-holder will help to ensure that all commissioned work is delivered to agreed objectives, budget and timescales.
The Assistant Content Executivewill have experience of working with video or imagery onlineand have the ability to demonstrate creativity. They ideally will have some experience editing, storing and uploading video and photoContent for a variety of different uses.
This role will cover Contentrequirements for the whole organisation, and will encompass all multimediaContentchannels currently used, as well as future media applications that VisitScotland may use.
Location
Edinburgh with some travel within Scotland.

Principal Accountabilities
- Support Multimedia Editor with delivery of multimedia content for VisitScotland, feeding into the Global Content Strategy.
- Support Multimedia Team with video editing, storyboarding and creation of video graphics for a wide range of video projects.
- Auditing of existing video content and acquire a good knowledge of all video available at VisitScotland.
- Use social media image and video platforms, e.g. Instagram, FlickR, Pinterest, YouTube.
- Project manage and co-ordinate the delivery of key videoContent projects as directed by the Multimedia Editor. Ensure all tasks delivered within each project.
- Use creativity and innovation to ensure the delivery of original and relevant multimedia content. Ensure this provides a good user experience for all visitors and the tourism industry across VisitScotland’s digital communications.
- Ensure that all multimediaContent created internally and externally is accurately captured and stored within the Content repository.
- Help looking after the multimedia team’s enquiries inbox and follow up enquiries.
- With the other members of the Content Development Team, participate in planning sessions with colleagues to understand requirements for different video Content related projects. This will help to ensure effective planning with work flow.
- Continually research and keep up to date with trends and best practice to ensure opportunities for delivering multimediaContent in all channels are identified and implemented where appropriate and to ensure best practice is used to deliver quality outputs.
- Maintain status reports for videoand provide relevant reports for partners on projects where necessary.
- When necessary, assist the members of the Content Development Team with the creation and upload of written content, sourcing of photography and maintenance of website.
- Any other duties commensurate with this post.
Contextual Information
This role has cross cutting responsibilities inassisting with the delivery of multimediaContentacross the organisation. It involves close working with all Directorates and other team members in Content Marketing.
The role requires some experience of creating and editing video Content. Current editing software used is Final Cut Pro. Good knowledge of Photoshop and image editing skills is also desirable.
Attention to detail is critical.
Excellent communication is required in addition to tenacity and ability to get things done.
A desire to deliver qualitymultimediaContent and achieve outstanding success and added value for all projects is important within this role.
Knowledge/Skills and Experience
- Good IT skills, meticulous and thorough, with outstanding attention for detail.
- Video editing. Current software used is Final Cut Pro/X. Storyboarding for video projects.
- Excellent communication, project and time management skills.
- Easily capable of winning the confidence, trust and support of colleagues across the organisation.
