Nomination Requirements:

1.  Completed nomination form.

2.  A letter of introduction describing why the nominee is deserving of this award.

3.  At least one letter of recommendation from individuals familiar with the nominee’s service to the off-campus community and/or copies of letters or notes of appreciation and/or commendation for service from the off-campus community members.

Who is Eligible:
All non-faculty contract professionals on a letter of appointment or MUS contract and all staff whose regular University employment encompasses working with businesses, organizations, alumni, governmental agencies, legislators, other universities and/or the general public. While many UM employees contribute to the community by participating in volunteer activities, this award focuses on those employees who deal with the off-campus community as part of their regular job duties.

Please include the following information in the letter of introduction:

·  Description of contacts the nominee has with members of the off-campus community, including frequency of contacts, purpose and types of individuals contacted.

·  How nominee’s contacts positively contribute to the overall mission of the department and/or The University of Montana.

·  Examples of exceptional service (e.g., resolution of problems, going the “extra mile” to provide assistance, outreach efforts on behalf of the University, initiate in obtaining and sharing knowledge, etc.)
