Ounsdale High School Theatre Technical Specification

If you require any of the theatres equipment for your production/event and you have your own engineers, you will need to arrange an appointment prior to your event with the house engineers. If you have not stated that you require in-house technical support, the equipment will not be available on the date of your event.

Technical Specification

Sound Equipment

  • 16 Channel Digital Mixer fully wired to a stage box (Stage-end) with 16 XLR input channels and 4 returns (2 returns for FOH system, 1 Return for stage monitors) this leaves 1 free return channel (XLR).BEHRINGER: DDX3216.
  • 2 x 450 + 1 x 900 WATT C SERIES AMPLIFIER. Professional 3-channel amplifier with built-in active crossover and subwoofer processor. Can be used as a normal 2-channel amplifier. 1800W Total power.
  • The FOH system includes four 300Watt Speakers (angled to tiered seating sound distribution) and one Ground Sub (500Watt). Please note that more Sub units can be added to the rig if needed.
  • Nine wireless Microphone receivers (Backstage R) XLR or Jack outputs. These are patched into the stage box.
  • 5 x Sennheiser Receivers (1/4 inch jack output)
  • 3 x Sennheiser Belt Pack with matching headsets. (3.5 inputs)
  • Four Hand held wireless microphones (JTS) with digital frequency ranges (changeable)
  • Nine body pack microphones (flesh colour head sets) ) with digital frequency ranges (changeable)
  • A dual 31 band equaliser with selectable EQ range (±6 ±15 dB). EQ-In/Out switch for quick comparison of the sound with or without equaliser. Features include: Hi Cut (4-30 kHz) and Low Cut (10-300 Hz) with 6 dB/Oct.
  • 200 watt foldback monitoring systems with two stage monitors.
  • Duel CD player with mixing function avalible
  • Mini Disk Player
  • Mini Disk Recorder
  • All the audio processing systems and Cue systems are run off a Laptop under password protection. Our advise is to bring your own source of audio player (example: Laptop with audio software)

Stage Operations

  • 2 Large wings with prop holding facilities and costume rails.
  • Lockable cabinets and storage rooms.
  • Stage left has access to under stage dressing rooms.
  • Stage right has the larger space ideal for set storage.
  • Set stage access is best done via the right wing. (Its easier to bring most larger set pieces on stage from stage right)
  • Stage manager/ Deputy stage manager located stage right. (Desk and intercom system available.
  • Stage left has the curtain pull system and the electrical screen operation points.
  • The stage at Ounsdale is a NON-Shine Black colour with 3 tab curtains either side of the stage; these can be positions as required.
  • The rear curtain tab can be opened and closed however access across to stage right is cut off if these tabs are open.
  • Our stage size is:

- Depth 18 ½ feet.

- Breadth [rear 25 feet, Front 39 feet].

-Central Area 462 sq feet.

  • An intercom system loops Front of house and back stage. 2 Head set provided at the rear of the theatre and 2 headsets located back stage right and left. All intercom system is Canford production.
  • There are plug power points available all around the stage.

Stage Effects

  • Two smoke machines (one of them is wireless and one of them DMX). Can be ceiling mounted or floor based.
  • One Haze machine (light fog effect, mainly used to enhance lighting beams).
  • Flame Projection. This is a rig mounted unit which projects a realistic flame fire effect.
  • Pyrotechnics can be used within this theatre. To qualify to use pyrotechnics a meeting with the house engineers is required one month in advance to the event.
  • Light flying systems are in place above the stage. These are flown from the fly floor in the left wing.

Light weight Flying

  • A Light bulb is part of our lighting rig as a practical fixture, this can be positioned from the fly floor
  • A lightweight pole can be flown in from the fly floor, this is ideal for hanging small items.

  • 24 Dimmer channels soft patched on stage left (3 strand act 6 dimmers)
