AHOUSE RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE THE HONORABLE MARY BETH MABRY AND TO THANK HER FOR HERDEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE TOWN OF SURFSIDE BEACH.
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pride in recognizing public servants who give of their time and energy to serve their communities; and
Whereas, Mary Elizabeth “Mary Beth” Martin Mabryhas been a tireless public servant as a member of Surfside Beach Town Council from 2012 to 2016; and
Whereas, commitment to the service of fellow citizens runs in the family, as exemplified by Mary Beth’s husband, P.L., who served on Surfside Beach Town Council from 1988 to 2004; and
Whereas, the couple moved to Surfside Beach in 1973 and since that time have distinguished themselves as community benefactors. Mary Beth Mabry is the first spouse of a previous councilmember to be elected to serve; and
Whereas, during her term of service, Mary Beth was the council liaison to the Surfside Beach Historical Society and in November 2015 was instrumental in establishing the society.She also served on the Council Finance Subcommittee; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives, grateful for herfour years of service to the Town of Surfside Beach, is pleased to pause in its deliberations to saluteCouncilwoman Mary Beth Mabry and wish her well in all her future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize the Honorable Mary Beth Mabryand thank her for herdedicated service to the people of the Town of Surfside Beach.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Mary Beth Mabry.
