A Dog's New Year's Resolutions
1. I will not play tug-of-war with Daddy's
underwear whenhe's on the can.
2. I will remember the garbage collector is NOT
stealing our stuff.
3. I will not suddenly stand straight up when I'm
lying under the coffee table.
4. I will not roll my toys behind the fridge.
5. I will shake the rainwater out of my fur BEFORE
entering the house.
6. I will not eat the cat's food before or after he
eats it.
7. I will stop trying to find new places on the carpet
when I am about to throw up.
8. I will not throw up in the car.
9. I will not roll on dead things.
10. I will stop considering the cat's litter box as a
cookie jar.
11. I will not wake up Mommy by putting my cold,
wet nose up her bottom end.
12. I will not chew my human's toothbrush and not
tell them.
13. I will not chew crayons or pens, especially not the
red ones, or my people will think that I am
hemorrhaging.
14. When in the car, I will not insist on having the
window rolled down when it's raining outside.
15. I will not drop soggy tennis balls in the
underwear of anyone who is sitting on the can.
16. We do not have a doorbell. Therefore, I will not
bark each time I hear one on the television.
17. I will not steal my Mommy's underwear out of
the laundry basket and then dance all over the
back yard with them.
18. I will remember the sofa is not a face towel and
neither are Mommy's & Daddy's laps.
19. I will remember my head does not belong in the
refrigerator.
20. I will not bite the officer's hand when he reaches
in for Mommy's driver's license and car
registration.

DUES NOTICE
The dues are to be paid by January 1, 2008. Members who have not paid their dues cannot vote until they are paid. Any members who have not paid their dues by April 1, 2008 will have their membership cancelled.

$5 may be subtracted from your dues for each activity that you have participated in. The following is the list of activities:

6. Worked Friday at the Hunt Test

A Recipe for Your Dog
YAPPY NEW YEAR YUM YUMS
Makes 12 stroke-of-midnight scrumptious snacks
HELP YOUR DOG KEEP HIS RRRESOLUTIONS WITH THESE LOW-FAT LIP-SMACKERS
2 tablespoons honey
2 ¼ cups water
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
4 cups whole-wheat flour
1 cup dried apple chips
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, mix together honey, water, applesauce, vanilla and egg.
Combine flour, apple chips, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg in a separate bowl and mix thoroughly.
Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well, scraping sides and bottom of bowl to be sure no dry mixture is left.
Spoon into greased muffin pans so that each cup is three-quarters full and bake for approximately 1 hour. Cool and store in a sealed container.

AWARDS INFORMATION
Please read the following information to determine if you are eligible for an Award/Recognition Certificate:
1. Annual awards/Recognition Certificates are open to Labrador Retrievers owned or co-owned by WLRC members in good standing.
2. Awards/Certificates are given for accomplishments earned during the previous year only. (January 1 – December 31)
3. To be eligible for an Award/Certificate, a club member must have attended at least three meetings in the respective year, if such membership dates from May 1st of the previous year.
4. Engraved awards are offered for any AKC Title, LRC Working Certificate and WLRC Working Certificate or Advanced Working Certificate. Certificates of Recognition are offered for any and all accomplishments deemed of particular interest. Certificates of Recognition will also be awarded to the breeder/breeders of a dog if they have at least 3 dogs receiving an award (not a certificate) and if the breeder(s) are club members in good standing.
5. A plaque will be given to an owner/co-owner upon their first dog’s first awards. Subsequent awards earned by the first dog and other dogs will be added to the initial plaque.
6. In the matter of co-ownership, both owner and co-owner(s) will receive an award if they are club members in good standing.
7. Sufficient proof of title/certificate must accompany application information.

at the club meeting (s). Or call my home at: 815-747-6200 if you cannot attend a meeting.
Directions:
- Complete the Awards/Certificate information form printed in Otter Tales.
- If you have an existing plaque, send one plate for each dog that earned awards. The dog’s registered name and titles (abbreviations) earned (January 1 – December 31) and the year will be engraved on the plate.
- If you need a plaque please let me know.
- Enclose proof of Titles/Certificates with the Awards Application form
- Send everything to me or bring to the February or March meetings.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The Awards Ceremony will take place in May.
If you would like to talk a little about your dog at the ceremony, that would be great.
