Introduction

Richard welcomed everyone to the meeting.

Minutes

The last meeting minutes were agreed and actions reviewed.

Matters arising

Action Plan

Michelle discussed the action plan with the group. It was agreed that all actions could be Completed and closed. Action three will be reviewed again in 2014/2015 as even though waiting times for routine appointments had reduced from 8 weeks to 3 weeks patients still felt that this was too long.

Survey Results

The group re-visited the survey results and confirmed that the following would form the basis of the next PRG project to be tackled during 2014/2015:

•  Opening hours – late night opening and weekends

•  Waiting times – Length of time for a routine appointment – We have lost two GP’s, recruitment has taken place and the new doctors are due to start in Spring 2014.

•  Appointment System – Sit and wait – is this appropriate for children?.

•  Reception – confidentiality on Front desk

•  Running late – Doctors running very late during surgery.

Updates

Confidentiality

There is a new sign by the front desk in reception asking patients to wait behind it for confidentiality purposes.

Doctors/Nurses

Richard advised that Dr Keeling has left the Practice and Dr Lavelle is retiring in May.

There are two new doctors joining the practice, Dr. Cheesbrough will be starting 1/4/14 and Dr. Foster 1/6/14. Until the new doctors are in place locums will continue to cover.

Nurse Lynda retired this month and will be returning in May to work one day a week. A new Nurse Practitioner will be joining us by the end of the month.

Care.data

This has been put on hold and the format of may be changed to OPT in rather than OPT out.

Other Business

Richard advised that there had been CQC visits in the area but that we had not been notified of a date as yet.

Richard advised that all key positions in the commissioning group have been filled.

It was raised that there are issues with the way that mental health patients were dealt with within the NHS, Steffi and Richard are going to look into this further.

Michelle advised that there is a drop in service at the surgery offering advice for health every 2 weeks the next one being 20/3/14.
