JOB TITLE: / Physical Activity Coordinator

SALARY: / £13,728 - £15,308pro ratadepending on qualifications and experience
HOURS OF WORK: / 32 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
To work with local networks and organisations to deliver physical activity and sports development programmes from Daventry Leisure Centre and Daventry Sports Park to increase sports participation.
To ensure that standards of ‘people service’ within the facility are maintained at all times to reflect the Company’s mission statement.
To form an integral part of the company’s drive to maximise income and use of the facilities and develop its potential through the development of activities and products offered within Daventry Active Ltd.
LOCATION:
The principal location is Daventry Leisure Centre. However the post holder will also be expected to cover Daventry Sports Park facilities and operate at times at other community venues and facilities within the Borough. Subject to the future growth of the company they may also be utilised in any section of the facilities operated by the Company where they are competent and/or qualified to do so.
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage and coordinate the delivery of the Health Walks programme, which includes managing 20 volunteer walk leaders, and look to expand further across the District, seeking new volunteers to train up to deliver the walks.
To manage and coordinate the delivery of the Nordic Walking programme and look to expand further across the district, seeking volunteers to deliver a sustainable programme.
To plan, promote and deliver physical activity and sport programmes focusing on increasing participation in sport and physical activity and income generation for Daventry Active Ltd.
To plan, promote and deliver events to be hosted at Daventry Leisure Centre and Daventry Sports Park.
To seek external funding and other support to support Daventry Active Ltd’s Sports Development objectives and activities programme
To assist the Sport Development Coordinator to deliver afterschool programmes at Daventry Leisure Centre and Daventry Sports Park.
To attend local and county physical activity meetings.
Promote healthier lifestyle through physical activity and sport.
Work with and provide support for partnerships entered into by Daventry Active Ltd for sport and recreation activities.

To assist in any way you can with the delivery of DAL’s Vision & Values and any quality management initiatives/systems operating at any time in the facility.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Principle Responsibilities:
To plan and organise the delivery of sports activities and events as directed by the Sports Development Manager
To plan physical activity initiatives within Daventry District
To manage, train, and coordinate volunteers delivering Health Walks and Nordic Walks across the District to expand the two programmes and deliver an effective service.
To attend local and county meetings as directed by Sports Development Manager
To provide office cover and telephone support for the Sports Development Team
To design and distribute promotional materials
Comply with health & safety policies and practices to ensure the safety and welfare of all in our care in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all other relevant health and safety legislation.
To attend all training, briefing/de-briefing sessions and meetings as advised by the Sports Development Manager, representing Daventry Active Ltd where appropriate.

EXPERIENCE
Experience of working within a sports and physical activity environment.
Experience of working with a diverse range of partners, voluntary groups and general public.
Experience of dealing with members of the public in a professional manner.
Experience of delivering physical activity initiatives.
Understanding of the requirements of Health & safety policies.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
A recognised Sport and Leisure Qualification
Level 2 Coaching Award
First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications desirable
Competency in IT, including Microsoft Office software package
Current Full EU Driving Licence*
