The priorities and current projects of each committee were explained. IT Governance Priorities are in support of excellent, effectiveness, and efficiency. Budgetary concerns are a focus for this year.

Discussion took place on changes and suggestions for this year.

Q: How can we contribute to not only the IT Governance but also the university?

A: OIT will guide decisions for the new Workday implementation that will affect every unit and employee on campus.

Brad Englert reported that ITS is challenged with a series of financial accounting, budgeting, and reporting errors, central fund diversions, and process mistakes that leave ITS in a budget predicament. Internal Audit reviewed the situation and confirmed the erroneous reporting and funding diversions, which result in a structural deficit.

During the fall semester, ITS and the Office of Accounting will be reviewing all ITS Service Center rates, recommend service changes (retire/reduce), and seek new funding sources. Brad will be working with his leadership team, the University’s executive leadership, and IT governance to re-look at all of the ITS services and the associated costs to provide those services in order to address the funding gap.

III. 3:45-4:00pm Elect Chair

Donna Bellinghausen has volunteered as chair. The committee unanimously elected Donna as OIT’s 2016-2017 chair.
