Minutes of the February 11, 2009 Meeting
The regular meeting was held at the IWWBeckBuilding on February 11, 2009.
The meeting was called to order by Jack Griggs, President.
Christy York, Board member of the Talala Area Public Library discussed a fundraiser for their summer reading program. A book signing by Carolyn Anne Taylor “Voices from the Heartland” will be held Monday, March 9th, 7:00pm, at the OologahCommunity Center.
Motion by Carolyn Estes, seconded by Amos Berry, and unanimously passed to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2009regular meeting.
Motion by Carolyn Estes, seconded byMelissa McKinney, and unanimously passed to approve the Treasurer’s Report dated February 9, 2009, indicating a balance of $16,925.01.
Committee Reports;
a)Banquet Committee; Jack Griggs and Amos Berry are co-chairs.
1)Ropin’ the Wind is the theme
2)Saturday, April 4th, doors open at 5:00/BlackJaxx BBQ at 5:30
3)Tickets $17 in advance / $20 at the door
b)Awards Committee; Melissa McKinney
1)RCIDA Entrepreneur Award applications were distributed with the agenda (e-mail). If anyone is interested please notify Melissa McKinney as soon as possible.
2)Dale Long will pickup the student applications on February 13th and we will distribute them by e-mail or mail February 19th.
3)A meeting is set for Wednesday, March 4th, noon, at Lakeside State Bank.
c)Election Results;Jack Griggs reported that 27 votes were tallied and the ballot was elected as submitted.
1)Officers; Amos Berry – President, Sherri Holly – Vice-President, Mark Barton – Second Vice-President, Melissa McKinney – Secretary, Co-Treasurers – Debi Hoffman and Linda Kolman.
2)Directors through 2009 – Betty Littler, Janet Trogdon, Mary West, John Wylie
3)Directors through 2010 –Judy Ashwood, Chub Brewer, Mike Fawcett, Rick Thomas
4)Directors through 2011 – Carolyn Estes, Janice Holland, Steve Savage, Tammy Sheetz
d)Budget Committee; Amos Berry, Debi Hoffman, Carolyn Estes, Janice Holland and Jack Griggs will meet soon.
e)Membership Committee; Janice Hollandadvised that the membership dues are coming in.
f)Easter Egg Hunt; Janice Baker

Positions Available
a)Part-time to answer phone, e-mails, etc;
1)We need to create a job description.
2)Get with Debi Hoffman regarding wages, benefits, and responsibilities of OACC.
b)Housekeeping; Jennifer Hollowell with Busy Bee Cleaning was hired for $10 per hour.
Oologah Historical Society (OHS):
a)Jack Griggs stated that we sent an e-mail to our membership suggesting that they become a member of the OHS, and several have responded. The biggest expense anticipated is a new heating and air system. It will be suggested that they have a fund raiser at our banquet.
Other Business;
a)Lots of things going on at the school Thursday, February 12th; meet the soccer Mustangs, a valentine carnival, and a Mark Twain impersonator.
b)Craig Cromley with AT&T is our new regional representative.
