To all coaches and teams participating in the FAST Summer Jam:

On April 22, 2010, Victoria Arenas of the Saline Swim Team (Michigan) was diagnosed with leukemia, forever changing her life. At thirteen years of age, Victoria is battling to keep her spirits high. The love and support that has been shown to her from the swim community across the nation has been amazing and a positive aspect to her battle against this disease.

To show our support for a friend in need, The Fishers Area Swimming Tigers are declaring Saturday, June 26th as:

“Victoria Arenas Day at the FAST Summer Jam”

We would like to ask that all swimmers, spectators, family and friends to wear orange on this day. Orange is the official color in the fight against leukemia. Additionally, the official FAST Summer Jam meet T-Shirt is designed in orange and the words on the back of the shirt will help us all remember this special day. Shirts are available for pre-order or at the meet.

FAST is also in the process of creating a commemorative gift basket for Victoria. If you would like to contribute, we would ask that each participating team provide at least one (1) item (such as a swim cap, towel, shirt, etc.) with your team name and/or logo. Upon arrival at the meet, please give your donated item(s) to one of the FAST Summer Jam meet directors.

Sincerely,

Fishers Area Swimming Tigers (FAST)

The Saline Swim Team and The Arenas Family would like to thank Ken Stopkotte, The FAST Booster Club and all of those people who are supporting Victoria on this very special day. The extraordinary effort, kind words and wonderful gifts to Victoria are amazing and we are all so very grateful of your efforts.

With much appreciation,

The Saline Swim Team
