·  Work with WASFAA committee to advertise events, disseminate information and keep members informed of activities and opportunities for participation.

·  Increase member engagement and interaction in social media.

·  Strengthen our LinkedIn and Facebook presence.

·  Make sure that members know what is going on with not only WASFAA, but their stat organizations and NASFAA.

·  People signed up for WASFAA Announcements as of 2/9/17 989 (all members from last 3 years that have opted in, decrease of 214 since last report)

·  People subscribed to blog as of 2/9/17: 103 (+1 since last report)

·  Number of blog posts (Nov-Feb): 0

·  Facebook Page Likes as of 2/9/17: 531 ( +15up from 516)

·  Number of Facebook posts (Nov 8- Feb 9): 23

Budget expenditures to date: $0

We have not had any budget expenditures for calendar year 2017. We plan on researching a different vendor to use for the newsletter so it can be created in a digital format. Creating the new monthly newsletter is no cost to create as it was done in house by the Communications committee.

Action needed by Executive Council (with timeframe):

·  Feb 15-16, 2017: Items to be discussed during EC meeting:

o  Feedback on first monthly Newsletter

o  Clarify shorter articles for newsletter

o  Discuss schedule for state news and some guidelines

Newsletter Schedule for State News for the rest of 2016-2017:

·  Feb: California & Oregon- Thank you for your articles!

·  March: Arizona & Washington- Articles Due: Feb 20th

·  April: Alaska & Idaho- Articles Due: March 20th

·  May: Nevada & Pacific Islands- Articles Due: April 20th

·  June- Dec: We will discuss with the 17/18 EC a schedule for the remainder of the year at the transition meeting.

If a state has an event they would like advertised in the newsletter on a month they are not selected to provide an article for, please send your event information to the Communications Committee by the 20th of the month so we can include a small snip it in the newsletter.
