Orangefield PTA News

2013/2014- another great year!

The 2013/2014school year has been another busy and successful one for the PTA. We ran numerous events which were enjoyed by both children and adults, and of course raised much needed money for the school.

Thanks to everyone who attended our last event of the year, the Summer Fair, despite the heavy rain. Unfortunately due to the weather most of our outside events had to be cancelled but there was still plenty to do indoors and the school was packed. Thank you to all the parents who gave up some time to help out, and a huge thank you to all the teachers for giving up their time despite having had a busy week with the school inspection.

We are delighted to say that through the three Cash for Clobber events we organised this year in conjunction with the Eco Warriors, the school has won a prize for collecting the largest amount of recycled goods (medium school) and received £3,000!

This year we are delighted to say that we have been able to present the school with a cheque for £13,500 that will be used to buy much needed resources. We are also pleasedto be able to donate some money to our nominated charity, NI Cancer Fund for Children.

There are many people who contributed to our success this year. Firstly, thanks must go to all the hard working members of the PTA. Particular mention must go to our chairman, Enda Campbell, who is stepping down after three successful years in the post.

Thank you to all the teachers, class room assistants and parents who helped out with our events over the year. Thanks also to all the parents and children who supported the events and made each and every one a great success. We are very fortunate that we continue to receive such splendid support from our teachers, parents and children. We would also like to thank Amey FM for opening up the school for our events.

There are numerous companies who supported and sponsored us over the year and we have tried to list all these over the page, apologies if anyone has been forgotten. Many of these are local businesses so please support these companies where you can to show our appreciation.

We would love to have some new PTA members starting in September. We meet at 7.30pm on the second Wednesday of every month in the school.

Have a great summer and see you next school year!
