Obstacle racing gets muddier with the launch of Dirty Dozen Races

Dirty Dozen Races offers a day of muddy fun for those wanting to challenge themselves or just have a good time.

Dirty Dozen Races offers a day of muddy fun for those wanting to challenge themselves or just have a good time. Military style obstacle race Dirty Dozen Races has launched today, bringing with it co-founders who want to challenge the public to do something different.

With obstacles and courses designed by ex British Special Forces, Dirty Dozen Races aims to make the most of the unique terrain on which it takes place. The first race will be at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood in Kent on 19th October 2013 and boasts a river crossing, swamp and tank arena.

12k isn’t for everyone.

Dirty Dozen Races caters to different fitness levels with three races to choose from. For participants that may not yet feel fit enough for the full ‘Dirty Dozen’ (12k + 20 obstacles), there is a ‘Dirty Half Dozen’ (6k + 15 obstacles) and for those looking for a greater challenge, there is the ‘Dirty Dozen and a Half’ (18k + 25 obstacles).

Hugo Elliott, Co-Founder of Dirty Dozen Races commented:

“The Army taught me that it’s only when you are at your limits do you find you who you really are and thanks to the training and competitive environment, I was able to do exactly that. Doug and I launched Dirty Dozen Races to give people that opportunity, to experience these emotions of pushing yourself to the limit and competing in a really a challenging event.”

Dirty Dozen Races Fitness Exchange.

Along with the race launch, Dirty Dozen Races have also launched the Dirty Dozen Races Fitness Exchange, an online fitness resource where they will share knowledge, ideas, tips, tutorials and challenges. They believe that no matter where you are in the world, fun and interesting exercises can be found - from the chairs in the kitchen to the benches in the park.

Doug Spence, Co-Founder of Dirty Dozen Races continued:

“The Dirty Dozen Fitness Exchange will help you get fit for obstacle course racing and give you ideas on how to use every day items both in and outdoors to train. We love to use what’s around us to train – it makes it fun and interesting.”
