Crossroads After-School Program for 2016-17 school year: We will no longer have a mandatory extended day for all grade 3-5 students. The Crossroads program will be available on a first come first serve registration basis. Flyers were sent home with all students on March 31st with all Grade K-4 students. Information was also sent out using the e-notify system. All parents are encouraged to sign up for
E-NOTIFICATIONS by signing up by going to www.easthartford.org and clicking the RED NOTIFICATION link.
Assessment Schedules:
STAR Reading and Math Assessments will be completed this week by all grades
Smarter Balanced- LA was completed in March for grades 3rd-5th
CMT Science for grade 5 was completed in March
Smarter Balanced- Math will administered in May for grades 3rd -5th
Upcoming Events:
IB Exhibition-Thursday May 28th at 1:15pm-2:30pm
Grade 5 student Duncan Witek shared information about our Grade 5 IB Exhibition.
It includes group research, presentations, and action plans. Mentors are assigned to each group to facilitate the process and offer support.
Car Wash- ThisSaturday April 23rd at 9am-1pm at Sunset Ridge School $5 per car all proceeds will benefit our BUILDON project.
BUILDON project update- We have raised $43,879 to date. Our goal is $45,000.
Thank you to all students and staff from O'Connell and Sunset Ridge for all your support with our mission. We have 12 staff members who will be traveling to Nicaragua this July to build the foundation of the new school.
Olympics Day(Field Day) scheduled for Friday June 3rd at 8:45am-12:00pm
O'Connell's Got Talent- will be held on Thursday June 2nd at OC West at 6:30pm.
OGT Registration applications must be handed in by this Friday, April 22nd.
Auditions:
Grades K-2 - Monday April 23 (3-4:15pm)
Grades 3-5- Wednesday April 25 (3-4:15pm)
Unfortunately due to the overwhelming student response each year, we are unable to take all students who try-out. Students must come prepared to tryout at auditions.
Other Business:
Last day of school scheduled for Friday June 10th. Dismissal at 12:45pm
