(7) Principles of Emergency Management and National Fire Protection Association:

The FEMA EM HiEd Project has received good news from the National Fire Protection Association that the NRPF has endorsed the Principles of Emergency Management produced by the Emergency Management Roundtable of Emergency Management Stakeholder Organizations. A copy of the NFPA logo/emblem was forwarded to us to incorporate into the two EM Principles documents produced by the EM Roundtable. Currently these documents show the logos/emblems of (1) FEMA/DHS, (2) the International Assoc9ation of Emergency Managers, (3) the Emergency Management Community logo endorsed by the National Association of Emergency Managers, the IAEM, and FEMA. The NFPA logo/emblem will be the fourth to be added. Since receiving news of the NFPA action, we have received communications from EM Roundtable members noting that action on the Principles of EM should be forthcoming soon by both NEMA and the Emergency Management Accreditation Program. The Principles of Emergency Management documents can be accessed on the EM HiEd Project homepage – EM Principles “tab” in the blue column, left side of the homepage – or by going directly to: http://training.fema.gov/EMIWeb/edu/emprinciples.asp
