NOTORIOUS AUTO LIFTER ARRESTED : 3 MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of a person namely Anil Rawat, aged 36 years, s/o Panna Lal, r/o Ashok Vihar, New Delhi , the South District Police has arrested a notorious auto lifter who also works as a carrier of stolen vehicles to North East States in India . The Police team also recovered 3 motor cycles (2 Bajaj Pulsar, 1 TVS Star) from him.

INCIDENT & TEAM :

There was a sudden spurt in motor vehicle thefts in the area of South Delhi . To nab the criminals who are involved in the crime of auto lifting a special police team consisting of SI Neeraj Chaudhary, I/C PP Okhla Phase-II, HCs Satender, Narbir, Cts. Sudhir, Sanjeev led by Inspr. B.S. Rana, SHO/Okhla under overall supervision of Sh. V.P. Singh, ACP/Kalkaji was constituted. The team was given the specific task to collect the information about the gangs/criminals active in the area of South Delhi . The Police team geared up its resources and developed information regarding the activities of auto lifters active in South Delhi .

On 10.9.2007 a secret information was received to the above police team that a notorious auto lifter would visit in the area of Okhla Phase-II on a stolen motorcycle. The Police team laid a trap near Puri Chowk, Okhla Phase-II and apprehended a person namely Anil Rawat who was driving a motor cycle. On Enquiry about the ownership of the motor cycles, he was unable to satisfy the police team. On enquiry it was found that the motor cycle was stolen one from the area of PS N.F.C. and a case vide FIR No. 765/07 regarding the theft of motor cycle was registered in Police Station Okhla. Accordingly he was arrested.

INTERROGATION & PROFILE :

During the course of sustained interrogation it was revealed that Anil Rawat originally hails from Uttranchal. His family shifted to Delhi after his father got a job in Railways and started living in Railway Colony at Ashok Vihar, Delhi . He had studied upto 12th standard in a Government school at Ashok Vihar. After leaving school he came in contact with Farman and Nagender and involved in auto lifting crime. In 2003 he was arrested by of AATS/North District and 16 stolen vehicles (10 motor cycles and 6 cars ) were recovered from him by AATS/North District. After his release from jail he went to Dehradoon and there he worked as a driver. He was again gone to jail in December, 2006 on warrants, where he came in contact with one Ravi , who is a known auto lifter. After his release from jail, he again involved in the crime of auto theft. He used to dispose of stolen vehicle to one Kalu in Agra . On his instance Police team recovered two more stolen motor cycles. He has also started the work of carrying the stolen vehicles to North East States for which he used to get Rs. 10,000/- for each vehicle. He was also found involved in 13 cases of auto lifting at various Police Stations of Delhi.

Efforts are afoot to arrest Kalu, the receiver of stolen vehicles in Agra . More recoveries and arrests are likely to affect.

THREE BURGLARS (TWO JUVENILES) ARRESTED RED HANDED WITH STOLEN PROPERTY

With the arrest of (1) Shahnawaz (name changed) aged 14 years s/o Akbar Hussain (name changed) r/o Jhuggi No.332, Kalandar Colony, Delhi; (2) Shahid (name changed) aged 13 years s/o Mohd. Usman (name changed) r/o Jhuggi No.330, Kalandar Colony, Delhi & (3) Siraj @ Mimka aged 18 years s/o Amjad r/o B-14, Kalander Colony, Seema Puri, Delhi, North-East District Police has worked out one burglary case, which took place in House No. 362/10, Julfe Bengal, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. Four reels of copper wire worth Rs.10,000/- were recovered from their possession.

TEAM AND INCIDENT

A team consisting of SI N.P. Deshwal, HC Tahir Hussain and Ct. Satbir was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Ishwar Singh, SHO/Seema Puri.

Shri Sunil Gupta s/o Prem Chand Gupta r/o 6/376, Doongar Mohalla, Farsh Bazar, Shahdara, Delhi told that he ran a cable manufacturing factory at House No. 362/10, Julfe Bengal, Dilshad Garden, Delhi. On 10.09.07 at 10 AM, when he along with his servant Pradeep opened the doors of the factory, they noticed that some persons were present in the factory and were taking away copper reels outside the factory. He immediately made a call at 100 number on which the above mentioned staff reached the spot and apprehended three boys red handed with the stolen copper reels. Subsequently, a burglary case was registered at PS Seema Puri and taken up for investigation.

INVESTIGATION AND INTERROGATION:

The identity of the arrested boys was revealed as (1) Shahnawaz (name changed); (2) Shahid (name changed) & (3) Siraj @ Mimka out of which Shahnawaz and Shahid were found juveniles and working as rag pickers. All the boys were illiterate and their financial conditions were very poor. Therefore, they decided to commit burglary in the nearby areas to earn quick money but all of them were caught red handed in their first attempt.

RECOVERY

1.Four copper wire reels worth Rs. 10,000/-.

(2) Shahid (name changed) s/o Mohd. Usman (name changed) r/o Jhuggi No.330, Kalandar Colony, Delhi is 13 years old. He is illiterate and works as a rag picker.

(3) Siraj @ Mimka s/o Amjad r/o B-14, Kalander Colony, Seema Puri, Delhi is 18 years old. He is illiterate and works in a motor workshop.

CCTV HELP CAPTURE BURGLAR RED HANDED

With the arrest of Aakash Mahani aged 21 years S/O Gulshan Mahani R/O Q-590, Dilshad Colony, Delhi, North East District police has worked out burglary case, which had taken place at G-105, Ist Floor, Dilshad Garden in the area of P.S. Seema Puri, Delhi.

INCIDENT

A team consisting of W/ASI Pushpa, ASI Shahid Khan, HC Jagdish, Ct. Jasbir and Ct. Satbir was constituted under the supervision of Inspr. Ishwar Singh, SHO/Seema Puri.

----An incident of theft of jwellery was noticed by Smt. Kavita W/O Brij Mohan Arora R/O G-105 Ist Floor Dilshad Colony. She shared the fact of frequent missing of her jewellery from her house with her father Shri Rajesh Kumar Sothi. The incident occurred in her absence by opening the doors of her house. On 9.9.07 Smt Kavita installed a CCTV in her house with an idea of catching the burglar red handed. She flared the news of her leaving for Haridwar while her father Rajesh Kumar took his position to watch the CCTV in other room of the house.

------On 09.09.07 at about 4 PM one young boy entered into the house and made an attempt to steal valuables from the almirah. His movements were being watched by Shri Rajesh Kumar Sothi on CCTV Monitor in the adjacent room. He immediately rushed out of the room and grapple with the intruder. The intruder, later on, identified as Aakash Mahani, made his best to relieve himself by attacking on Shri Rajesh, but failed. In the milee, he sustained some injury also. Shri Rajesh Kumar bolted Aakash in the room. Later on, Aakash managed his escape by scaling down the balcony and fled away from the spot. He informed her daughter Kavita also. While watching captured picture of incident Smt Kavita was surprised to know that the intruder was not but the son of his friend who is living in the same locality. The mobile phone (make Nokia 2310) of accused Aakash was also recovered from the spot.

INVESTIGATION

The matter was referred to PS Seemapuri where a case of burglary has already been registered against accused Aakash. The local residents are praising the act of family by showing common sense in installing the CCTV to capture the intruders and were also of the view that this would help in prevention of incidents in other houses also. Accused Aakash has been arrested and one gold ring stolen earlier from the house of Smt Kavita has been recovered. Further interrogation is on progress to recover rest of the stolen property.

Aakash has studied upto 12th standard and was un-employed. His interrogation reveals that Aakash did not like the comments of Smt. Kavita over his inability to earn so far. On one occasion Aakash managed to slip away the keys of the house and had strike more that once to commit theft in the said house.

CAR BORNE SNATCHER ARRESTED. SENSATIONAL SNATCHING CASE SOLVED

In a classic display of highly professional investigation and well-planned operations, South-West District police have successfully solved a clueless case of Snatching and recovered all the belongings of the victim by arresting two accused Jitender Singh, aged 25 years, r/o Najafgarh, New Delhi and his associate Ramdev, aged 35 years, r/o Village Dinpur, Najafgarh, New Delhi in case FIR No. 497/07 dated 5.9.07 P.S. R. K. Puram, Delhi. The accused Jitender is the son of a Govt. Official and his mother is a teacher. He is a graduate having diploma in Hotel Management and Computer Software.

incident: On 5.9.07, a call was received at P.S. R.K. Puram that some one in a car has snatched a purse containing Driving Licence, Credit Cards, Mobile Phone and cash etc. belonging to a lady.

INVESTIGATION: Keeping in view the nature of the crime, various police teams,under the close supervision of Shri Kumar Gyanesh, ACP/Vasant Vihar, led by Inspr. R.K. Tyagi, SHO/RKP alongwith SI Virender Singh-I/C PP Sector-4, RK Puram, Ct. Rajesh and Ct. Sandeep were formed. During investigation, information was received that one Jitender whose father is a Govt. Official and his mother is a teacher and who used to live in R.K. Puram Area has been seen in the area. The car which was used to commit crime was identified as Maruti 800 No. DL-9-CJ-6997. The movements of the suspect were followed and on 8.9.07 Jitender was apprehended near bus stop Sec-4 RK Puram waiting for a customer to sell the snatched mobile phone. All the articles i.e. Mobile phone, Credit card, Lady Purse with belonging as well as the Car No. DL-9-CJ-6997 Martuti 800 CC were also recovered on the instance of the accused. His co-accused Ramdev r/o Village – Deen Pur Najafgarh New Delhi was also arrested and on his instance the articles i.e Mobile Phone and other cosmetic articles purchased by the accused Jitender Singh from a shop called Subhiksha, by using snatched credit card, were also recovered.

During investigation it was revealed that accused Jitender Singh has been involved in more than 5 cases of crime registered in various police stations in Delhi. He is a graduate having diploma in hotel management & computer software. He was used to a luxurious lifestyle and used to commit crime for meeting his day to day expenses.

With the working out of this case, the South-West District police have been able to instill confidence among the local residents. Timely nabbing of such a criminal has prevented further crimes which could have been committed by him later on. Further investigations are in progress.

GANG OF JUVENILE AUTO LIFTERS BUSTED

6 MOTORCYCLES AND 1 MARUTI CAR RECOVERED.

SIX CASES OF AUTO LIFTING OF DELHI SOLVED.

Recently some cases of vehicle theft were reported at P.S. Delhi Cantt. A special team supervised by Inspr.. Investigation Om Parkash was formed. On 09.09.07 vehicle checking was conducted at Sadar Bazar by this team. At about 9.00 PM two young persons came towards Sadar Bazar side on M/Cycle Yamaha No. DL-IS-K-7848. They were stopped and asked for vehicle document but neither they could not produce any document related to said vehicle nor they could gave any satisfactory answer.

During interrogation it was revealed that the same vehicle was stolen from Kabul Line P.S. Delhi Cantt. vide FIR No. 302/07 U/S 379 IPC and during interrogation their three co-accused (All minors) were also arrested. During sustained interrogation total 06 Motor Cycles & 01 Maruti Car were recovered from their possession. Pawan Kumar r/o Kakrola Road, Dwarka, receiver of the motor cycle was also arrested and motor cycle was recovered.

Modus Operandi:- The Modus Operandi of the accused persons was that they used to steal M/Cycles and Cars from the residential areas for joy riding and then used to leave the vehicles randomly. Recently one of the accused person (name with held being minor) sold a motorcycle to Pawan Kumar for Rs. 10000/-.

All the accused persons are minors (school drop outs), except the receiver.

With their arrest P.S. Delhi Cantt. Police Station has worked out Six Cases of motor vehicle theft which occurred in Police Station Delhi Cantt, Dabri, Maya Puri and Rajouri Garden area.
