Notice to Contractors

Norway Armory Admin and Drill Hall Roof Repair Project

Project consists of the demolition of the existing two-story office and administrative area roof system to include the west stairwell and oil tank room roof systems. Contractor shall install required structural upgrades and a new fully insulated metal roof system. Approximate square footage of roof systems to be replaced is 4,228 square feet. Project also consists of the replacement of 15 window lintels, approximately 4,490 square feet of brick repointing and sealing, and repairs of building interior to bring the facility into code compliance. An Alternate Bid Item (ABI) consisting of the demolition of the existing drill hall roof system, the installation of required structural upgrades and the installation of a new fully insulated metal roof system may be awarded as part of this project. Approximate square footage contained in the ABI is 10,664 square feet. All work to be performed under this contract shall be in accordance with plans and specifications written by Cordjia Capital Projects Group, LLC, dated August 28, 2015.

The cost of the work is approximately $ 243,880.00 (base bid). The work to be performed under this contract shall be completed on or before31 January 2016.

will be opened and read aloud at the address shown above at 3:00 p.m. on September 17, 2015. Bids submitted after the noted time will not be considered and will be returned unopened.

  1. The bid shall be submitted on the Contractor Bid Form (section 00 41 13)provided in the Bid Documents. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids as may best serve the interest of the Owner.

The Bidder shall include a satisfactory Bid Bond (section 00 43 13) or a certified or cashier's check for 5% of the bidamount with the completed bid form submitted to the Owner.

The selected Contractor shall furnish a 100% contract Performance Bond (section 00 61 13.13) and a 100% contract Payment Bond(section 00 61 13.16) in the contract amountto cover the execution of the Work.

The pre-bid conference is for General Contractors and optional for Subcontractors and suppliers. Contractors who arrive late or leave the meeting early may be prohibited from participating in this meeting and bidding. Pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 PM,September 3, 2015, at the Norway ArmoryFacility, located at 17 Elm Street in Norway, Maine.
