Ride 3 days..trail ride on beaches, in the bay, woods and fields.Porta-Potties & horse water. Campers welcome Friday. **Thursday OK after 1pBEFORE DARK ONLY** There is a hydrant of potable water but plan to bring your own water. No horse washing. This is primitive camping- no hook-ups, no electric.

Fire Co sells Farm Breakfast Sat and Sun – times posted at the pavilion. NO riding Mon if you stay over.

Directions: From the South: Rt 13 North from Virginia Beach to Machipongo, (about 18 miles North of Ches.BayBridge Tunnel) LEFT across Rt 13 at Rt 628(Wilsonia Neck Rd), Immediate RIGHT on Rt 618 (BAYSIDE RD). Stay on BAYSIDE RD for about 5 miles (ignore changes in route #s) LEFT on CEDAR GROVE FARM ROAD,(Rt 695), Right on SECOND dirt road to camp site.
From the North: Approx 73 miles South of Salisbury MD, just past Mile 99, RIGHT at LIGHT Route #604 BAYSIDE ROAD (becomes Rt 618 immediately. Ignore rt changes), stay on Bayside Road for 7 miles. RIGHT on CEDAR GROVE FARM LANE (Rt 695) Right on SECOND dirt road to camp site.

Your horse does not need shoes for this ride, but your horse and YOU must be fit and able to ride. It can be very hot..The land is almost flat, but the trail is 15 miles minimum to the beach and back.

Rules of the Ride:I understand additional ride information may be posted at the rides.I agree to respect all property and to follow trail markers… not hoof prints… I understand the trail may vary from previous years. I shall protect crops and property by staying on the trails and I am responsible for keeping my mount under control. I shall observe trail etiquette and will adhere to any instructions from outriders.
I UNDERSTAND THAT SAFETY HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR RIDERS UNDER 18 OR YOU CANNOT RIDE AND ARE RECOMMENDED FOR ALL RIDERS. SORRY, NO STALLIONS, NO BAREBACK RIDERS, NO DOUBLE RIDERS, NO LEADING HORSE/PONY, (NO “PONY-ING”) NO DOGS ON TRAILS. PARENTS MUST ACCOMPANY AND RIDE WITH CHILDREN UNDER 18 or PARENTS MUST RELEASE LIABILITY FOR CHILDREN 16-18 NOT ACCOMPANIED BY PARENT. WAIVER:In consideration of being permitted to participate in this equine activity,the undersigned (Releasor) executes this Waiver and Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement (Release) and hereby agrees as follows: Releasor is aware of the risks of injury and death inherent in Equine Activity and acknowledges that (s)he has read the above Rules which are incorporated into and made part of this Release by this reference. Releasor hereby expressly assumes all risk associated with all such Equine Activity.Releasor hereby releases,
waives and discharges Northampton County Fire and Rescue Company, its officers, members, directors, employees, all other persons or entities acting on its behalf and any and all landowners allowing the use of their land for this equine activity, and all participant organizers (collectively, the Releasees) from all liability to Releasor, and his or her spouse, legal representatives, heirs, successors and/or assigns, for any loss, injury or damage, and any and all claims therefore, on account of injury to Releasor’s person or property, or the death ofReleasor while Releasor is engaged in any equine activity. Releasor hereby waives his or her right to sue Releasees on account orinjury to Releasor’s person or property, or the death of Releasor while Releasor is engages in equine activity. Releasorherebyindemnifies and agrees to hold harmless Releasees and each of them from any loss, liability, damage or cost they may incur due to Releasor’s presence in, upon or around property being used by the organizers for the purpose of this equine activity, or due to Releasor’s participation in such equine activity regardless of where such participation may occur. This release is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with Virginia Code:§ 3.2-6202. Liability limited; liability actions prohibited under the Virginia Code A. Except as provided in § 3.2-6203, an equine activity sponsor, an equine professional, or any other person, which shall include a corporation, partnership, or limited liability company, shall not be liable for an injury to or death of a participant resulting from the intrinsic dangers of equine activities and, except as provided in § 3.2-6203, no participant nor any participant's parent, guardian, or representative shall have or make any claim against or recover from any equine activity sponsor, equine professional, or any other person for injury, loss, damage, or death of the participant resulting from any of the intrinsic dangers of equine activities.
B. Except as provided in § 3.2-6203, no participant or parent or guardian of a participant who has knowingly executed a waiver of his rights to sue or agrees to assume all risks specifically enumerated under this subsection may maintain an action against or recover from an equine activity sponsor or an equine professional for an injury to or the death of a participant engaged in an equine activity. The waiver shall give notice to the participant of the intrinsic dangers of equine activities. The waiver shall remain valid unless expressly revoked in writing by the participant or parent or guardian of a minor.

Sorry, no refunds, no transfers-not fair to folks on the wait list nor the Fire Company. Some folks have argued that if they cancel, then we can let somebody else in..well, not everyone is sitting on the edge of their chair waiting for my last minute call, and since all food is purchased in advance based on sales, the fire company loses money on wasted food. So please work with me on this! We are fortunate that so many people enjoy this ride, but rulzizrulz... and we thank you for understanding the logistics of putting on an event of this magnitude. And if you are reading this, then you probably are not the people I'm writing to! LOL!
