Wildcat Scholarship Information

The NCWHS Football GridIron Club (GIC) is taking applications from graduating seniors to be considered for a one-time College Scholarship.

Award:

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Due Date:

Application materials are due by April 1, 2017: no later than 10PM Central Standard Time.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria and complete the application including the essay.The Applicant must:

  • Be agraduating Normal West senior
  • Will attend a college or vocational school after graduation
  • Be a participant in the West football program or if a transfer student new to West, an equivalent football program from their previous high school
  • Maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 5.0 scale

Instructions for Applying for Scholarship:

Complete the application and write an essay on the topic: “How football has impacted my personal life and will continue to impact me”. You must use a 12 point font and 1” margins on your document.

Scoring Rubric for Application:

Names of applicants will be removed from applications for evaluation. A panel of judges representing the GridIron Club, Normal West Athletics and Normal West Faculty will evaluate the applications based on the following rubric: (NOTE: In the event of a tie, the top essays will be ranked by the judges based upon the overall quality to determine the top 2.)
